Months prior to my planned trip I started conversing with Beatrice and Jennie via WhatsApp. In all my dealings with them I found them to be thorough, prompt and always eager to assist. At each of my stops they arranged prompt pickup and transport as well as any needed guides. I highly recommend their services.

Just back from an unforgettable week in Tibet with Great Tibet Tour. Despite two major contingencies - President Xi Jinping's sudden visit to Lhasa with heavy security measures and the collapse of a bridge on the border with Nepal - this agency turned a potential disaster into a perfect experience. The guide Mr. Meng, the driver Mr. Huan and coordinator Merry rescheduled some visits with professionalism. Transparent communication, zero additional costs and even partial refunds. What could have been a ruined journey has become the most authentic journey. Recommended! *Michela and Fabio*

On the 24th April I went on a trip with The Great Tibet Tours. I think I was ripped off. First of all I will say the Guide and driver were great. I arrived at the airport, unfortunately I got altitude sickness and was bad, but the Guide looked after me. There were 5 of in the group. We went to visit some sights which I didn't do. I sat in the shade. The next day I was feeling a lot better and we went to see the Potala Palace which I thick we spent too much time, then went onto Jokhang Temple. The next day we went to Gyanise -Shigatse seeing the Yamdroktso Lake which was smashing. Today one of the people that was in the group left us to go back to Lhasa. We arrived in Shigatse. The next morning we left Shigatse I though we would have seen more here. Then we on the way to the base of Everest. Unfortunate we could not see Everest due to heavy snow. We stopped in a hotel near Everest and the next morning made way to the boarder where we were supposed to stop the night before crossing the boarder the next day. This was not the case. Two people that were in the group stayed. Peter and I were bungled over the boarder and stayed in a hotel which had no water, towels or toilet paper. We should have stayed in Tibet. This was a 7 day holiday not 6. I think what I paid this holiday was not worth it. Also with 5 starting the holiday i thought 5 would finish. It seamed that they were making the group up. There is another thing they charge use $80 for the jeep ride to to go to Nepal when everyone else was charge $60. I was also charged $60 to have my permit delivered to China Airport

My fiancé and I just completed a tour across Tibet with Great Tibet Tour, and could not have been happier with our experience! Our travel consultant Merry was so helpful with every step of the process and responded to us promptly every time (even when I was very slow to respond!). She made arranging everything a breeze, and even when we had to rush to get our visas to China so she could submit our Tibet Travel Permit applications on time, she never made us feel bad about taking a while and was ready to go as soon as we were. Our guide Norpu was my favorite part of the tour! We loved having a local as our guide as she was able to answer all our questions and give great insight into what life is like for Tibetans. She was sweet and softspoken and always took the time to explain everything carefully - by the time we left Tibet, we came away with so much knowledge about Tibetan Buddhism and all the temples and monasteries we visited. When I was feeling sick on the last day, she made sure to offer anything she could to help until I was feeling better. Our driver, Tempa, didn’t seem to speak any English but he felt like an old friend because he always greeted us with a huge smile and got us everywhere safely! The itinerary was perfect - it was the right amount of sightseeing and free time so you always felt like you could focus on what you wanted. I really appreciated having that kind of flexibility. We were never bored! The three days in Lhasa were the exact amount of time needed to feel like we really knew Lhasa’s Old Town, and we were very happy with the amount of time allowed to all of our next destinations. We felt like we’d seen all the best parts of Tibet and had so much to tell people at home about our lovely trip. The landscapes were stunningly beautiful and the people of Tibet were so kind. I walked away feeling like we really lucked out with everything - but I think that was just the way the tour was set up! Highly recommend visiting Tibet and highly recommend Great Tibet Tour 😊

This trip and this company delivered to every way. Communication in the planning stages is important to me. I don’t like being kept waiting while planning a big trip. And Tibet is a BIG trip. That’s number one. The hotels were better than I expected. Our guide Lobsang was awesome. I’ve traveled all over the world (100 countries) and I cannot think of ANY guide that’s better than him. Informative, funny, helpful, and always asking “need anything.” Top tier in every way. Where did he take me? To some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. Photos can’t deliver the overwhelming beauty Tibet offers. Soooooo happy.

My wife and I took the 7 day Lhasa-Mt. Everest-Kathmandu tour with Great Tibet Tour in early December. December although low season was actually a good time for a tour of Tibet. There were very few other western tourists and the temperature wasn’t as cold as I anticipated. The tour was amazing and we appreciate Great Tibet Tours for putting together such a smooth and exciting trip. Admittedly, it seems that most of the companies running tours in Tibet have same itinerary, we would run into other groups at the same restaurant, and the guides would hang out together. We only have the best things to say about Great Tibet Tours. The guide (Lopsang) and driver we’re friendly and knowledgeable, the hotels were excellent, and the itinerary was a good mix of culture/history and nature. We were the only ones to spend a frigid night at the Everest guest house once all the Chinese day trippers left. a very cold adventure! You do spend a lot of time in a vehicle on some but the scenery is incredible and you can stop whenever. You definitely need an experienced tour group to arrange the details as there are a lot of legal requirements traveling around Tibet . Thanks to Great Tibet Tours everything went smoothly. One last thing, although not technically part of the tour, the drive from the Nepal border to Kathmandu was definitely a highlight. Great Tibet Tours arranged a seamless transfer at the border. Nepal is totally different from Tibet and another reason to take this tour!
