Sigiriya Lion Rock
Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built around a massive granite rock that rises about 200 meters above the surrounding plains. It dates back to the 5th century CE, when King Kashyapa I chose the site as his royal capital. The fortress was both a palace complex and a heavily fortified stronghold. After his death, it was abandoned as a royal seat and later used as a Buddhist monastery.
Dambulla Cave Temple

Kandy Lake Club Cultural Show
In Kandy, traditional cultural dance is not just entertainment—it is a living continuation of ancient ritual, royal court performance, and temple ceremony. The Kandyan dance tradition is one of the most structured and symbolic performing arts in South Asia, deeply connected to Buddhism, healing rituals, and historical kingship. Below is a deeper explanation of what you are actually seeing when you attend a Kandyan cultural dance performance.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy is not just a religious building but a living system where faith, history, politics, ritual, and national identity are deeply fused into one continuous tradition. It exists because of a sacred Buddhist relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha, which is considered not only a spiritual object of devotion but also a symbol of legitimacy and protection for the entire country. For centuries, whoever possessed and safeguarded the relic was seen as the rightful ruler of Sri Lanka, which made the temple central to kingship, governance, and state authority.

I had an amazing 7-day tour of Wilpattu National Park safari, Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Ella, Udawalawe and Yala safari, and Galle with Ceylon Classic Tours. They provided a customized private tour that exceeded my expectations. Mahesh, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, courteous, and always ensured that we were comfortable. He was punctual and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. Mahesh made sure to explain important landmarks and even made unplanned stops for sightseeing and photo opportunities. Lishan, our tour consultant, was also extremely helpful during the trip planning process. They provided excellent support and helped create a customized itinerary that suited our needs. Thank you Ceylon Classic Tours and Lishan for an unforgettable journey. I look forward to experiencing another one in the future.🇱🇰🏴

I just finished a seven day solo tour and had a fantastic time. Before booking the tour the team helped with itinerary suggestions which helped me decide how many days I needed and the places to visit. I visited Sigiriya, Habarana, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala National Park, and Mirissa. I opted for the 3 star hotels and all were nice with most having amazing views. The team checked in with me regularly to see how I was enjoying the tour and if there were any issues. Sri Lanka has some really beautiful scenery.
