Odumase Krobo
Today we will depart shortly after pickup to Volta Region, En route, we will visit Cedi Beads, where glass bottles are recycled into beads.
Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary And Cultural Village
We will visit Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, home of Mona monkeys. We will also learn about the community and how eco-tourism has contributed to the development of this village. We will check-in to our Guesthouse before dark and have a rest and relaxation there.

Afadjato (Mount Afadjato)
Today we will hike the highest mountain ‘Afadjato’ (885m above sea level) in the morning which will take about 3 hours maximum.
Wli Waterfalls
After the hike we will head out to Wli Waterfalls, West Africa's highest waterfalls. We will spend the rest of the day refreshing in the water fall. In the evening we will chill out at our Guesthouse.

Akosombo Hydro Plant
We will depart Volta Region shortly after breakfast. We will visit Akosombo Dam, The biggest hydroelectric dam in Ghana located on the amazing Lake Volta that produces over 1,020MW of electrical output. We will have lunch on the lake and go on a Boat Cruise on the world’s largest man-made lake to the side view of Ghana’s hydro-electric Dam. We will depart Akosombo shortly after the boat cruise and head into Kumasi, One of the largest cities in Ghana. We will locate our Guesthouse and check in for the night

Depart from our Guesthouse have breakfast and depart to Bonwire Kente Village, Bonwire is popular for Kente weaving. Kente is a colorful Ghanaian traditional fabric which is worn mostly on important occasions and celebrations. A lot of the kente cloth that we see in Ghanaian markets actually comes from Bonwire.
Manhyia Palace Museum
We will drive back to Kumasi and visit the historical Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman, as well as his official residence.
Okomfo Anokye Sword Site
We will then visit the Cultural Centre, the Sword Monument of Okomfo Anokye and discover the world of modern art in a clean and comfortable museum setting.
Kejetia Market
Kejatia Market market is our next destination, West Africa's busiest and largest open air markets. You will get the chance to talk with the women traders at the market and shop for cloth and local items; here you will have the opportunity to use your bargaining skills. We will arrive in time before dark and have a cool relaxation at our Guesthouse. In the evening we will go and experience night life.

Mole National Park
We will check out from our Guesthouse have breakfast and spend the entire day travelling to Tamale. We will stop along our journey to have lunch and set off stopping at Mole national park, Ghana's largest national park and the home of the biggest elephant in Africa.

Mole National Park
We will spend the entire day today exploring the national park and what Mole is got to offer. We will go on a morning walking safari. We stand the chance of seeing wildlife’s such as monkeys, elephants, warthogs, antelopes, deer’s, buffalo's and more. We will have breakfast on return and spend the afternoon at the pool side viewing elephants and warthogs from a distance.
Larabanga Mosque
Later in the day we will visit the Larabanga Mosque, Ghana's renowned and oldest mosque. We will also learn how Shea Butter made. We will drive back before dark to our hotel.

5.00Loved the trip and tour experience planned by Citizen Tours. Learned alot about Ghana's history and saw historic and present places of interest I knew nothing about. I enjoyed interacting with local citizens, visiting a school, the waterfalls, local villages, and traveling to different regions of the country. Our tour guides were outstanding in customer service, sharing their knowledge of the country, and making special efforts to make our visit memorable and special. If I am able to visit Ghana again I would definitely contact Citizen Tours and recommend them to others. You wont be disappointed.

From the beginning to the end, they made sure all of needs were met, accommodated is upon request and made sure that we had a real Ghanaian experience. I have already referred family and friends! 5.00I did a bespoke 11 day trip that built on the 8 day cultural tour. Yaw was my tour guide and Kobby my driver. We set about criss crossing the country and it was a trip filled with lots of adventure, fun and nice surprises. They tailored the trip to what I really wanted to do, including hiking and meeting local people and experiencing the culture and food in the localities. It was lots of fun, I always felt safe, and there was never a dull moment. Yaw arranged for some cool tunes to always be playing in the car which just added to the experience! I came during covid and they were happy to wear masks and take the necessary protocols. We aways had a box of masks in the car. Don't forget to bring hand sanitizer, though there were also plenty of hand washing stations set up everywhere. Don't hesitate, just book, come expecting to experience a new culture and see interesting places. Remember to remain flexible, laid back and open to be experiences which will make your trip even more enjoyable!

5.00Kwame showed us beautiful places in Ghana that I didn't want to miss. We swam under the highest waterfall in Ghana, slept at Lake Volta, gave bananas to monkeys and took a walk. Kwame knew a lot about the culture and history of the country. It was very nice that kwame arranged everything for us, so that we could enjoy ourselves and not have to worry.

5.00Travelling with Citizen Tours is a fantastic experience! Kwame knows a lot about the country, knows exactly which places are fun to visit and puts together a fantastic program in collaboration. The trip is a huge addition to your experience in Ghana and the fun Kwame brings is a big part of that! I have done two trips and enjoyed both of them very much, seen a lot. These trips should not have been missing during my time in Ghana. Highly recommended for everyone!
