What To Expect
Uribia – Castilletes – Puerto Lopez

Our adventure begins in Uribia, La Guajira. We will leave towards Castilletes, it is the most complex route in terrain and distance, we will pass through the hill of the tit where you can take pictures.
La Flor de la Guajira is a store in the middle of the arid desert that offers cold drinks and basic items to visitors. The tour of this day can be extended, so we suggest you bring enough hydration and snacks since the arrival time is planned around 4 PM but it can be extended. We will sleep in stilts.
We will pass by the police station, visiting the plateaus that give the area its name, then we will begin the journey towards Puerto López.
Rest day in Puerto Lopez

This day we will rest from the trip on day 1, we will visit the ruins of Puerto Lopez, the meteorite and the beach.
The stone of Destiny, which in the Wayuu language is called Talawayuupana. It is the rock that decides people's lives, the talk is made about the myth and those who wish can try to cross the hole and give life to the myth.
Puerto Lopez - Punta Espada - Nazareth

We will visit Punta Espada, where we will visit a typical Wayúu rancheria, the base of the army and the beach where we will have lunch, if possible we will visit the stone of destiny and we will head towards Nazareth

We will make the journey from Punta Espada to Nazareth where we will have lunch, we will be able to see the offer of fabrics offered by the community and we will relax with a pool night.
It is an oasis in the desert of La Guajira, there you can take the guided tours offered by the park for 20 dollars
Nazareth - Puerto Estrella

We will make the trip to Puerto Estrella and the rest of the day we will enjoy the beach and the ruins of the dam that gave life to the duck lagoon or Patomana next to an imposing dune.

Dunas de Taroa
We will make the journey from Puerto Estrella to Las Dunas de Taroa, we will enjoy the spectacular beauty of this place and the beach, where we can also do sandboarding (optional). After lunch and on the way to the hotel, we will play in the dunes with the cars.
Punta Gallinas
This day we will rest in Punta Gaillinas.

It is the northernmost point of South America, where we will do a photo session
We will visit Punta Aguja beach and we will have the rest of the day off, where those who wish can take the flamingo tour of Bahía Hondita (not included) or take a walk through this magical place.

Punta Gallinas - Uribia
On the last day we will return from Punta Gallinas to Uribia, passing through Bahía Honda and Bahía Portete

We will pass through Cabo de la Vela where we will have lunch and visit El Pilón de Azucar, Playa Dorada, Playa Arcoíris, Ojo de Agua and El Faro.

5.00We traveled with my wife and our three teenage kids. The trip was very well balanced in terms of adventure and also getting to know this absolutely beautiful place and culture. We found the trip to be quite well organized by Julián. He managed to find a great group of partners for the expedition, with whom we were able to enjoy every step of the journey. The logistics and lodging worked well, considering what is available in the Area. I would definitely come back again!

5.00Unmissable fate. La Guajira is a beautiful apartment with landscapes that look like postcards. In order to go to these areas, it is necessary to accompany and good logistics. You can do all that with OVERLAND FAMILY. They have everything very well organized for you to spend an excellent stay.

Living the culture of the guajira regarding sleeping in chinchorros, water care , is part of the experience.
