We spent 8 days in Zanzibar, including three days of safari in Mikumi National Park. The safari was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. We had the chance to observe a lot of animals in their natural habitat, which was amazing. However, the party in Zanzibar had its positive and negative points. The beaches were beautiful, but some attractions were too touristy for my taste. Stone Town had its charm, but it was often crowded, making it difficult to appreciate its unique atmosphere. In addition, we encountered some organizational problems with our accommodation. Overall, although the safari was exceptional and Zanzibar is beautiful, there are areas for improvement in terms of organisation and authenticity. That said, it was a rewarding experience that I recommend to those looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation

I recently returned from an 8-day trip to Zanzibar, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable journey. The first three days spent in Mikumi National Park were exhilarating! We went on several game drives and saw a variety of animals, including giraffes, zebras, and even a pride of lions. The park was less crowded than others, which made our experience feel intimate and special. Once we arrived in Zanzibar, the vibe shifted to complete relaxation. The beaches were stunning, and we enjoyed snorkeling and exploring local markets. Stone Town was a highlight, with its winding alleys and rich culture. The transition from safari to beach felt a bit rushed. I wish we had more time to enjoy both experiences fully. Nevertheless, this trip is definitely worth it!

Our 8-day trip to Zanzibar was nothing short of magical! We spent the first three days on a thrilling safari in Mikumi National Park, where we were treated to breathtaking views and incredible wildlife. From spotting elephants to witnessing lions in their natural habitat, every moment was an adventure. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate about the ecosystem, making the experience even more enriching. After the safari, we headed to Zanzibar, where we spent the next five days soaking up the sun on pristine beaches. The contrast between the wild beauty of Mikumi and the serene shores of Zanzibar was perfect. We explored Stone Town's rich history, indulged in delicious local cuisine, and relaxed with sunset views over the Indian Ocean. This trip offered the best of both worlds, adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a diverse travel experience!

We booked 8 days with Makala Travels, where we spent 3 days in Mikumi National park for safari, and 5 days in Zanzibar. 3 days we spent very nice as we did a game drives in Mikumi park, our driver-guide was Michael, he made sure we saw all the animals(lions, giraffes and elephants our favorites). Our accommodation in Camp bastian was amazing as we had a room with Ac and comfortable bed, the african meals were so good cant compare it. The transfers were comfortable as we had coffee breaks each stop. Then, the rest 5 days were spent in Zanzibar, our hotel had a great services, we were welcomed by a juice(nice gesture to us), the excursions we did, was super amazing, the beaches, our guides Khalfan and Iddy were super friendly, our driver Dulla was very funny man, and left us with Zanzibar jokes😂 as everything is done pole pole(slowly) not compared to europe lifestyle. Gabriel is a very kind charming person as he was in contact with us, from booking to arrival, and during our trip, even when we left he made sure we landed safely (this is a super notch service and we mere felt comfortable). Thank you for making our dream trip to Africa become the best experience.

Mikumi National Park (3 Days) Our 3-day safari in Mikumi was absolutely incredible! The game drives were well-organized, and we saw so many amazing animals – lions, elephants, giraffes, and even a leopard! Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure we had the best sightings. The Bastian camp was comfortable, with a great atmosphere, and the food was delicious (especially pilau, nyamachoma, wali nyama, chips mayai). Zanzibar (5 Days): After the safari, we flew to Zanzibar, and it was the perfect beach getaway. Stone Town was fascinating – the history, the narrow streets, and the spice tour were all highlights. Nakupenda Sandbank was like paradise – crystal-clear water, white sand, and the freshest seafood lunch we’ve ever had! Nungwi Beach was breathtaking, with its turquoise waters and palm-fringed shores. We spent hours just relaxing and swimming – pure bliss! Makala Travels did an excellent job organizing everything. The transitions between safari and beach were smooth, the accommodations were great, and the guides were friendly and professional. If you want a perfect mix of wildlife and beach relaxation, this is the trip to book! Would definitely travel with them again! Highly recommended!
