This experience goes beyond dates and landmarks to explore Paris through lived history, community, and presence. Rather than focusing on a single narrative, the tour connects African, Caribbean, Black American and diasporic stories across neighborhoods, showing how Black life has helped shape the city in visible and subtle ways.

The experience allows space for conversation, reflection, and context as we travel through areas most visitors never connect into a single story. From shops, restaurants, and landmarks, guests leave not just informed, but with a new relationship to Paris.

What To Expect

We begin at the historic literary café Les Deux Magots for a meet and greet. Guests enjoy a light French breakfast included with the tour while learning about the café’s place in Parisian intellectual life and its connection to Black writers who lived and worked in the city. This is an opportunity to settle in, meet the group, and set the context for the day ahead.

We stop at Présence Africaine, a landmark bookstore and publishing house founded in 1949 that has played a central role in African and diasporic intellectual life in Paris. Here, guests learn about its influence on writers, thinkers, and movements that connected Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe, and why this space remains important today.

We had an incredible experience with Knight. This tour was thoughtful, engaging, and deeply enriching from start to finish. Knight brought Black Paris to life in a way I never knew existed. We met inspiring Black-owned shop and bookstore owners, tasted amazing food, and walked through historic neighborhoods filled with stories that are often overlooked. One of the most powerful moments for me was standing in a bookstore where Malcolm X once stood. That alone made the tour unforgettable. My husband and I both loved the experience. Knight is knowledgeable, warm, and passionate, and it shows in every detail of the tour. This is a must-do for anyone visiting Paris who wants a deeper cultural and historical perspective beyond the usual landmarks. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience walking through parts of Paris with our intrepid guide, King! My husband and learned a great deal and saw Black Paris community and culture live and in color. Also a visit to “Little Africa” will likely impact your perspective of what it means to be Black in Paris. Wear comfortable shoes and be open to a new experience. Don’t miss it!

Knight was an excellent tour guide. We truly enjoyed this immersive experience. We got to see parts of Paris normally you would not see and experience the culture and food. I highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Paris.

Our guide was knowledgeable and well traveled. We visited several restaurants and his choices were fabulous with amazing historical content. He was well known in all communities which created a good vibe. LOTS of walking. Please do not consider if you have any issues. Listen to the guide! Do not film people without consent. This is a really nice tour if you want to learn some black history in regard to France and see some black culture during your visit. It was easy to find the meetup location with an uber. The meetup restaurant had tasty breads to try and I was able to also enjoy a cappuccino. The guide was very personable and also very knowledgeable. I had a great time with him. I purchased nice items at the tour stops. I enjoyed the food at the restaurant which was the last stop on the tour. This is a walking tour. So, come prepared wearing comfortable shoes. We took the metro several times and also the public bus. It allowed for a more local experience which was exactly as I had hoped.
