I had a great day on 03Sep25, doing the "A Day Trekking to Tsetsee Gun Peak" trip in the company of Juugii, who is a wonderful person and guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and open and who made this hike to the top of Bogd Khan mountain together with the vist of the Manzushir Monastery ruins a marvellous experience. I totally recommend the tour and the guide to anyone wishing to take a one day break from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

We had an amazing hike up to the peak of Bogd Khan with our guide Bagi. Bagi was probably a mountain Ibyx in his past life and was able to move forwards effortlessly. Us lesser mortals were always trailing behind but he was always close by and was just moving ahead to inspect the condition of the trails ahead. We were very fortunate to have his wisdom and experience as we were both novices. He made the hike really enjoyable and was able to provide just enough pushing for me to not give up at the last mile. The hike itself was amazing. The smell of pine needles and the sounds of the rustling pines in the wind were just some of the memories we took away with us. We were also very fortunate to have experienced all seasons while we were hiking up. We enjoyed full sun, clouds, rain, and even hail! So we feel very fortunate to have been blessed and cleansed by nature. Thank you Bagi for guiding us and for pushing us to make a successful summit!

I didn't receive what was advertised. We didn't go to the peak or the monastery The guide was unprepared - no bag, didn't bring water for himself, didn't have a map of the trail and they hadn't done the walk before The guide didn't know where the trail started. He was very relaxed about it all, basically just rocked up and started walking. He seemed to be following another group. I asked if they were going the same way, he said yes (they weren't). After a combination of following another group and wandering in the forest for nearly 5 hours and 7.2 km, we finally made it to the main trail. The guide asked if I wanted to go the top I hadn't brought enough water for such a long walk (I had given some of mine to the guide). I estimate another 9 km including uphill to the peak. I'm an experienced hiker and knew it would be dangerous to proceed. Thankfully I made the right call as the guide later advised he was physically struggling, I doubt he'd have made it to the top As the walk had taken so long, the guide from the other group we were following gave me one of their lunches. We also had a late second lunch at a restaurant, not a picnic as advertised After the walk I mentioned the monastery multiple times, yet the guide didn't take me. Not sure what happened there. Once I realised we were on the way back to UB and pressed him, he offered to go back to the monastery (an extra 70 minutes drive). It was too late in the day for that. To his credit he offered various alternatives to try and make up for it (e.g. drive 90 minutes to the Chinggis Khan statue I'd already been to) but nothing could make up for this experience besides a refund Apparently he was told he was doing the tour at 1 AM, had to leave home at 6AM. No wonder there was such a lack of preparation Throughout this whole experience the guide was way too relaxed. Didn't acknowledge anything had gone wrong until I pressed him multiple times. He initially said "welcome to Mongolia" and that his tour groups get lost in the desert all the time. Implying there was nothing unusual about the situation. This is a day walk near UB, you shouldn't get lost. Just find the start of the trail and follow it The saving grace was I still got to walk in the reserve and had some interesting conversations with the guide. He was quite personable and likable. Otherwise this was a pretty dissatisfying and pointless experience. What's the point of hiring a guide if they don't... guide you? From doing part of the actual peak trail, it seems an easy trail to follow. I'd recommend downloading the route, renting a car and guiding yourself

Genuinely one of the best trips I’ve ever been on, my guide was amazing from start to finish very knowledgeable very friendly and put me at ease. We started the day pretty early so it was amazing to be out in the early morning fresh air. The track itself was brilliant. Unbelievable views. The photos really don’t do it justice. As an English tourist and it being my first time in Mongolia, having a guide who spoke my language so well was great. Not only did I have a great hike, but I enjoyed his company very much. Please do this, it takes you away from the city and experience a different side of Mongolia. Thank you so much, I will never forget it. Love from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The mountain is very beautiful and peaceful. There were a lot of trees, boulders and muddy patches to maneuver around. It snowed when we went which made the day really great. My guide, Dorj, was a great navigator. This trek is strenuous.

It's nice. I did everything I expected to do. It's quite muddy in some places and up to mountain it's better.

This was a great day trip out of the city. Picked up from my hotel right on time by 2 very friendly and entertaining guides. The walk was a good exercise without being too strenuous, the scenery was beautiful, lots of laughs along the way, the lunch was delicious and well deserved. Highly recommended

Had a great day with Eric trekking to Tsetsee Gun Peak. A lot of fallen trees made it a challenging trek but Eric found the way to the top. Beware the trek is 8.5 km both ways and at the moment even longer du to the fallen trees.

The forest was peaceful. The scenery was beautiful. Saw lots of birds and wildlife. Marmots, squirrels, chipmunks. Saw deer tracks in the mud. Beautiful wildflowers everywhere. There was a cuckoo in the distance which added to the peaceful scene. Eric, my guide, was absolutely fabulous. A recent windstorm downed many trees that blocked the trail and most of the bridges. Eric managed to find a way through the forest and over boulders to get us to the destination. The view from the top was great - but rain set in. Absolutely fabulous day. This hike is very challenging. Be prepared.

Beautiful hike to the top of the mountain. Great tour guide. Eric was very nice and even played some fun music as we hiked up. There were very few people along the way where there are large trees and boulders.
