Senate Square
Senate square (Senaatintori in Finnish) is our meeting point, and it is probably the main tourist attraction, where the history of modern Helsinki begins. Here we will discover the three beautiful buildings around us!
Helsinki Cathedral
Helsinki Cathedral or the White cathedral is the most famous landmark in the city that you have probably seen pictures of. If the church is open, we can go inside and learn about the religious mindset in Finland. If we are lucky, we can also enjoy some music inside the church! (we don’t go inside the church in the summers because of its 10€ entry fee. It´s closed on Sundays, most Saturdays, and in public holidays)

It truly was a Finntastic tour! Our guide was great (forgive me, he had a Finnish name that I didn’t quite catch), very informative, very warm, and very funny. The balance of history, culture, and recommendations was brilliant and, if you’re spending a week in Helsinki or are there for the day from Tallinn, as we were, this is the perfect introduction to Finland as a country. The guide instantly made the group feel at home- this tour is a must do if you want to learn about Helsinki, and the country of Finland as a whole.

Great introduction to Helsinki in a walkabout route. The tour is approximately 4 km, with some hills and lots of cobblestones, so keep that in mind and wear good shoes! Older folks might appreciate a cane with a chair - there are few places to sit and only one bathroom break. Our guide was Tatiana, and she was very engaging and fun. She had a speaker with a microphone so she was audible for the whole group. In addition to the sites, you learn about Finnish culture and history. Great value for the money!

Mattde(?) Our guide was very tuned in to our diverse group of mostly Australian and north American visitors. A few from UK too. Great range of historical and cultural information in digestible bites. Highly recommend.

Very detailed historical overview of Helsinki. I definitely recommend doing this the first day or so of your time in Helsinki as the guide will give you a lot of helpful recommendations.

Tatiana was an outstanding guide! She shared lots of great information and really brought Finnish history and culture to life for us. I highly recommend this tour as a way to get to know Helsinki; she had great recommendations for things to eat, do, and see after the tour, too.

It was a great look at the sights of Helsinki with Katja, a knowledgeable, animated guide. She provided both historical facts and contemporary information.
