Senate Square
Senate square (Senaatintori in Finnish) is our meeting point, and it is probably the main tourist attraction, where the history of modern Helsinki begins. Here we will discover the three beautiful buildings around us!
Helsinki Cathedral
Helsinki Cathedral or the White cathedral is the most famous landmark in the city that you have probably seen pictures of. If the church is open, we can go inside and learn about the religious mindset in Finland. If we are lucky, we can also enjoy some music inside the church! (we don’t go inside the church in the summers because of its 10€ entry fee. It´s closed on Sundays, most Saturdays, and in public holidays)

We have done more tours around the world than we can count and this tour is among the best we have experienced. I am always skeptical about "cheaply" priced group tours with no maximum number of participants, but this tour was surprisingly great. Matti was an amazing guide. One of the best we have encountered anywhere. He was very knowledgeable and provided great insights into Finnish history, architecture and culture. We had no idea how interesting and different Finnish culture was! He provided so much information in a friendly, interesting and often humorous way. Don't even give it a second thought - just book this tour! It is a must for anyone visiting Helsinki.

The guide was easy to find with the blue and white striped umbrella! Walking tour is mostly outside with some stops inside to warm up. Easy walking, minimal steps. Also easy to hear and understand in English as guide had a microphone headset. Learn about Finnish history and culture and see important sites along the way -with a lot of humor too! Excellent intro to Helsinki and Finland. Highly recommend!

Having had many tours in the past I can safely say this was one of the best. Informative, with the right dose of humour and a guide able to answer all our questions (as well as teach us some Finnish). Highly recommended

Wonderful tour and a perfect introduction to Helsinki - Matti is an excellent guide. Friendly and welcoming, and provided lots of fascinating information about Helsinki and Finland. Great tips for places to see and things to do after the tour. And a great tour for solo travellers too. Kiitos!

I booked this tour for my first morning in Helsinki and it was an excellent introduction to the streets and buildings of the city centre. I particularly enjoyed Matti’s stories about Finnish history and culture. I feel I really learned more about Finland than if I had just visited on my own. Matti is an engaging and amusing guide. His English is immaculate. Overall I thought the tour was great value for money and a great way to find your feet in Helsinki.

We joined the tour with a small group of 10 people. Our guide was friendly and prepared introduced us to the city both from a historical and socio-cultural point of view. The tour is well organized with a half stop at a coffee shop. It also provided us with ideas for activities to do the following days. Thank you!

Toured with Matti. Excellent. Entertaining and informative, Gave an excellent overview of Helsinki history, local geography, and the people and their customs - all done in an interesting and personable way. Also compassionate - made sure we kept warm, including a coffee stop, as it was some -20 degrees C. Matti - I promise we will henceforth always pronounce 'Sauna' correctly!! Recommended.
