Senate Square
Senate square (Senaatintori in Finnish) is our meeting point, and it is probably the main tourist attraction, where the history of modern Helsinki begins. Here we will discover the three beautiful buildings around us!
Helsinki Cathedral
Helsinki Cathedral or the White cathedral is the most famous landmark in the city that you have probably seen pictures of. If the church is open, we can go inside and learn about the religious mindset in Finland. If we are lucky, we can also enjoy some music inside the church! (we don’t go inside the church in the summers because of its 10€ entry fee. It´s closed on Sundays, most Saturdays, and in public holidays)

Matti was an energetic, knowledgeable, and friendly tour guide. He gave us some good recommendations, local tips and insider info. Definitely worth it if you’re thinking of signing up. If you go in the winter like I did, remember to bring gloves and a scarf since most of this tour is outside!

Matti, our guide was passionate about Helsinki. He brought facts and fun bites about where we were. It's always a great intro to a city to do a walking tour and this one definitely kicked the holiday off to a great start.

Matti was both knowledgeable and funny! He sprinkled history with fun and it never felt too rushed or boring. The pace was perfect and I remembered so much of what he said because he was so engaging! He also made sure there were opportunities to go inside and warm up. Best time! Kiitos 💙

This was our first time to Finland and I love to do the walking tours right away in a new location so I can get the lay of land and see the “main attractions “. Our tour guide, Matti, was great, he showed us all the important locations like Senate Square and Oodi Library and even gave us a couple restaurant locations. The tour was just the perfect amount of time as well. Definitely money well spent and I would highly recommend this tour!
