Most visitors explore Tigre by taking the classic boat ride, and that’s perfect for almost everyone. But this experience is different—it’s for travelers who want more, who seek authenticity and are ready to live Tigre in another way. You’ll combine the boat journey with a guided walk through an island neighborhood, discovering how locals live.

The reward is a six-course Argentine asado paired with wine, prepared slowly and shared in a special part of the house that, in Argentina, we keep only for barbecues with family and friends. On this day, I’ll open that space to share it with you.

You don’t need to speak Spanish to enjoy the day — I’m not fully bilingual, but we’ll understand each other easily. There’s phone signal if you need translator, though smiles, food, and wine usually say it all.

This is not a tour for everyone—its for curious travelers, food lovers, and those who dare to go beyond the usual path

Not recommended for travelers only looking to sit and eat. This is an outdoor experience where nature is part of the charm. To reach the house we walk along quiet island paths, crossing some small bridges and dirt trails. There are no swamps or wild jungle, but if the river rises, certain areas may have a bit of mud. It’s not a difficult walk, but not for high heels. You may also meet friendly neighborhood dogs wandering freely—this is how locals live here. Not all those bridges or trails are required to arrive, but they help you picture the neighborhood.

The only thing not included is transport from your hotel to Tigre

What To Expect

Meeting in Tigre We meet at McDonald’s in Tigre, only 50 meters from the boat. It’s an easy and friendly place to start. Here you can buy something to drink or have a small breakfast, either at McDonald’s or in the nearby shops. There are also public bathrooms available before we go on the water together.

This is an immersive experience. It’s a full day out of the city experiencing how people live in other villages. The area was absolutely beautiful and the host is so nice and his food is AMAZING! I highly recommend it! Will likely be the highlight of the trip!

An amazing experience!!! From the first moment in tiger, where we take a boat until we reach the destination. Surrounded by nature there was Nelson preparing us a rich roast with wines and we just enjoyed a wonderful day.

Definitely my top 10 experience in Buenos Aires! Magical day that feels like an exciting trip just an hour away from the capital!! And the best way to get to know Tigre in the authentic way through feeling like a guest of a local! Boat ride, amazing food, beautiful walk and countless views to be impressed are literally the best weekend plan ever! And a price-value that seems unrealistic! I couldn’t stop talking about it for weeks) and now bring all my friends here not to miss such a joy! Highly recommended!

The tour is really fantastic, pleasant, delicious and affordable. The host, Nelson, is really someone who knows the region deeply, and lets us be very comfortable, to explore and have the best experience. The food offered and the choice of wines is the best possible. I highly recommend! The tour was not prepared for children, yet we took our little ones (from 1 and 3 years old), and went all right, especially by Nelson's attention with all the details. If we were just among adults, we could have explored the part of wine tasting and barbecue conversations even more. However, it was worth every second, and look that could have been even better!

That is a great opportunity to see Tigre from the inside, to understand how the local people spend their weekends here. We travelled on a public boat to one the furthest parts of the delta of the Tigre with narrow channels (most of the restaurants are at the beginning of the delta and here is the part with private houses) The food was delicious, all the details were very well-thought and beautiful! Perfect glasses, high-quality knives, good wine, the best provoleta I have ever tasted and certainly perfect wine. And then there was a nice walk in the neighborhood. We really enjoyed the weekend.

It was a truly unique experience. I wanted to do something different with friends and family, more than just a walk along the Tiger, and this place exceeded all expectations. The setting is quiet and perfect for relaxing, completely surrounded by nature. The space has all the comforts to enjoy without worries. They're in every detail that's needed. The food and wine were excellent. The mates accompanied a day full of laughter, talks and rest. Undoubtedly, an experience to repeat. Thank you!
