Our passionate and experienced local guide will lead you to 5 independents where you will enjoy a range of food and drink whilst learning more about the venues and their influences from the owners themselves.
Our unique tour also passes by key sights in the city, where you'll hear interesting stories about Chester’s ancient history while sipping on an award-winning ale, or even maybe sampling some artisanal cheese. Each of our Chester tours are unique and we reveal each of the stops to you as we go.

5.00A great way to taste the very best of Chester. Our host Gareth was excellent—his knowledge of the city’s Roman and medieval history is as good as the food and drink we had during the tour. We were in a tour group of four, and visited a selection of outstanding local independents, no chains or high street names. No spoilers, but you’ll visit hidden gems you’d likely walk right past on your own. It’s a brilliant way to support local businesses while getting a deep dive into Chester’s heritage.

5.00If you're visiting Chester, absolutely don't miss this tour! Gareth was a world class guide, entertaining and informative, and made us feel so very very welcome. After excellent pre-tour communication, the afternoon lived up to our hopes. Wonderful food, plenty to eat, so much fascinating history and photo stops, and the highlight of an already fantastic day was the wine stop. This tour was the equal of (the many) food tours we've done around the world. Do yourself a favour, book this trip. And Gareth, we were entertained! Cheers from NZ.

5.00Me and my partner went on the Chester History and Beer tour on Saturday. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough! We had Gareth as our guide. He was fantastic. Chatty, interesting and so friendly. We have lived in Chester for many years and learnt so much fascinating history on our walk round. We finished off in the Pied Bull with some delicious beer. Thoroughly enjoyable morning. We would definitely look at doing another tour in another city.

5.00We enjoyed a fabulous tour with our fantastic guide Ann. The selection of venues chosen was excellent and we enjoyed them all very much. We also learnt some I tersting history facts about the city and we can’t recommend this tour highly enough. A really wonderful way to get to know the city and all the fabulous food it has to offer.
