  Our tour guide was excellent. She was extremely accommodating and kind. My group had exclusions and she worked around all of our allergies, likes and dislikes. I highly recommend her for a experienced street food tour.

  I had a truly wonderful experience on the Street Food Tour with Akosua Serwaa, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, Akosua was patient, conscientious, deeply knowledgeable, and generous of spirit. When my taxi became disabled and I had to find another—making me late—she was gracious and unhurried, immediately putting me at ease. Throughout the tour, she was attentive to my food allergies and aversions (including my firm anti-banana/plantain stance), making sure I felt safe, respected, and included at every stop. Thanks to Akosua’s expertise, I was able to try an incredible range of street foods—many of which I would never have been able to identify or confidently order on my own. The experience included drinks, ice cream, sweets, savory snacks, and a full, satisfying meal of stew and fufu. She even gently corrected me when I instinctively used two hands to eat (to the alarm of everyone at the table!). Lesson learned: right hand only. Akosua’s care extended well beyond the official tour. She helped me find an ATM, walked with me through a section of fabric vendors, and made sure I had a reliable ride to my next destination. Along the way, she was consistently thoughtful—finding places for me to sit and rest, carrying my bags, and taking photos so I could fully enjoy the experience. This tour was not just informative and delicious—it was welcoming, warm, and memorable. I absolutely plan to follow up with Akosua when I return to Ghana.

  If you want to understand the heart of Accra, you have to do this walking tour. Akosua is so knowledgeable about the history and the local food culture. We tried a huge variety of BBQ, local sweets, and snacks. She was very patient with all our questions and gave us great recommendations for other restaurants to try during our stay. It was a fantastic morning and very well organized.

  An amazing experience. The street food was so tasty and Akosua was very friendly and helpful. She showed us so many things we wouldn't have found alone. Can definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Accra.

  I woke up on the morning of our tour feeling quite unwell and was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to join the walk through Accra. When I messaged Akosua, her response was so incredibly kind. Instead of us just missing out, she offered to go through the market herself and bring the tasting experience to us. She ended up delivering a massive spread of about 17 different street food items right to our Airbnb. It was amazing she brought everything from local snacks and drinks to an actual meal called “waakye” so I could still experience the flavors of Accra while I recovered. She even took the time to explain what everything was and checked in on me later to see how I was feeling. That level of care is so rare. She is a wonderful host with a huge heart, and I cannot recommend her enough.

  This tour was everything we could have hoped for thanks to our lovely guide Akosua. She led us through different areas of Makola market stopping to taste a whole variety of different foods & drinks. Later we counted up what we could recall & we sampled at least 19 different foods and were offered two more on top of that! Akosua explained what each item was and the ingredients to it and we tried things we would have never experienced otherwise. The trip ended with a sit down meal of a delicious chicken dish with Jollof rice and extras - we had a big plate each which turned out to be one portion shared between us - unbelievable! Needless to say we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Many thanks to Akosua for a great tour, for the thoughtful touch of providing us with a bag each to carry our wares in so we didn't have to eat everything straight away & for also messaging us after the tour to tell us the spices we needed to make Jollof rice. 10/10, would highly recommend this tour.
