Espiritu Santo Island is an incredible paradise that you will never forget!
The experience of swimming with sea lions is very nice, they are playful and they usually come close to interact with the swimmers.
(During the months of June, July, and August, swimming with sea lions in their rookery is not allowed, so we just see them from the boat and snorkel and/or hike at another site of the island)
We always try to take our clients to the beaches where there are less people, so that they get a unique experience with the feeling of adventure that we like so much.
Finally, learning about the history of the ancient settlers, the fauna and flora of the area, the current lifestyle of the locals, and being accompanied by marine biologist guides will make your day a very enriching one.
It can only be visited on boats with permits and certified guides.

What To Expect
Snorkel with friendly sea lions at Los Islotes (colony of over 600 sea lions). During June, July, and August (reproductive season) we snorkel at other sites, like rocky reefs that hopefully also have sea lions! Lunch on a sandy beach and turquoise water of the island (shade, benches, towels, ceviche, chips, water, and soda) Visit to points of interest on the island (abandoned pearl farm, mangroves, rock formations, and bird colonies). Chance to see dolphins, whales, and/or manta rays (mobulas).

3.00I recently did a sea lion swimming tour with this group, and while the experience had potential, we left feeling a bit disappointed — especially for the price (just under $300 for 2 of us). The tour was advertised as about 7 hours, but even accounting for us arriving ~10 minutes late, we left around 9:20am and were back by 3pm, which definitely didn’t feel like the full experience promised. We were only in the water about 40 minutes and unfortunately didn’t see any sea lions. That part was especially frustrating — it would have been nice if the boat waited longer or tried another area to improve the chances. Lunch was also shorter than expected. We were told we’d have about an hour on the beach, but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes, which made the day feel a bit rushed overall. The crew was friendly and the location itself is beautiful, but for the price and expectations set online, we were hoping for a longer, more relaxed experience and better opportunities to actually see the sea lions.

5.00Everything about this trip was perfect. I can’t believe how close the sea lions swam to me! Several were very playful and it was fun to watch them maneuver so effortlessly underwater. The coral reef beneath us was beautiful and lively. The parrotfish were huge! After swimming with the sea lions, we had lunch on a beach that looked like it came straight out of a magazine. The ceviche was plentiful and delicious, and lounging on the beach overlooking the turquoise water was serene. I didn’t want to leave but when we inevitably did, the crew showed us more wildlife on the way back to La Paz. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting La Paz!

5.00This trip was excellent from start to the finish. The crew were super knowledgeable and helpful in explaining about all of the marine life and made the tour a truly unforgettable experience. It was great that they adjusted the schedule when they realised that we could also swim with Manta - just out of this world! Fantastic company, Javier, Omar and Chris were really engaging with all of the small group and helped create a really friendly group dynamic. Topped off with a really tasty ceviche lunch on a stunning remote beach, I cannot recommend this trip enough. We’ve travelled a lot and this trip was one of the best ever - well done guys an thank you 🙏

5.00We had Almendra as our guide. She was wonderful. She is your snorkel leader, ensuring you find playful sea lions that want to interact, while staying away from those that don’t. She ensured you didn’t go too close to them, but lots come really close to you because they want to interact! So much fun! You’re looking one way then all of a sudden one is right in front of your face for a second then back again a couple seconds later. An absolutely great experience! Christian was the boat captain and also helped you out of the water, set up lunch, provided info, etc, he was also excellent. They were a really good team. Lunch on the beach was delicious and plentiful! Highly recommended!!
