For those who prefer a leisurely afternoon, this private wine tour is the perfect way to explore the best of Central Otago’s boutique wineries without the rush of a full-day itinerary.
You’ll be picked up directly from your accommodation between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, depending on your location and the day’s plan. From there, we’ll visit three handpicked boutique cellar doors, where you’ll enjoy an intimate, personalised wine-tasting experience.
Along the way, learn about the region’s history, winemaking techniques, and the unique characteristics that make Central Otago wines so exceptional. At one winery, a shared cheese platter accompanies your tasting.

5.00Susana was fun, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, an all-round excellent guide who made the tour both informative and enjoyable. What really stood out was her attention to detail. She remembered the information I had shared in advance about my family joining the tour, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personalised. It was also clear she has strong relationships with the local wineries, as we were often hosted in side or private rooms, adding to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Although the tour focuses on Pinot Noir, a highlight of the region, Susana made sure the white wine drinker on the tour was equally well catered for, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, a beautifully curated experience and a wonderful introduction to Central Otago’s wine scene. If you’ve visited wineries in the area before, be sure to let Susana know in advance, she can tailor the tour so you experience places you haven’t been to before.

Susana had an impressive knowledge of the Central Otago wine region, its history and range of boutique, independent, and iconic wineries we visited. Susana’s fun and friendly nature made the day even more enjoyable, and she went above and beyond by capturing photos for us throughout the tour, which she kindly shared afterward. Such a thoughtful touch! The tour itself was excellent value for money and gave our group the chance to discover some truly beautiful and unique spots. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
