An amazing experience! Highly recommended if interested in scenic views, boat cruises, and if you enjoy nature and animals. The Captain was highly knowledgeable about the history and wildlife in Albany, as well as very friendly and welcoming.

We have been coming to Albany with good friends for more than 12 years and we finally got to do the cruise. Well worth waiting for as we all thoroughly enjoyed Jacks informative stories and poetry. The weather was perfect as was the scenery. The oysters, strawberries, honey and damper were fabulous. We would highly recommend this tour.

This is a must if you are visiting Albany. The captain is a mine of historical facts that are so interesting and his delivery is second to none. From talking about his friendly Pelicans to explaining the oyster beds, everything is geared to enjoying this great experience. The best four hours my husband and I have spent in ages. Wish we lived closer I’d be doing the trip regularly. Thanks for a great day out.

SO MUCH FUN! Captain Jack is a warm welcoming storyteller, full of knowledge about the Kalgan River's history and wildlife. We took the cruise on our last full day in Albany and it was a great finish. My favorite quote: when you've spent 18 years around pelicans, you learn to recognize each one by sight.

Jack, the skipper and host, was both very knowledgeable and funny. I’m in a history buff and my partner loves anything nature and/or wildlife related and we both enjoyed the cruise. Expect ospreys sea eagles, pelicans and the greeting of Simon the NZ fur seal. Bonus points for the local strawberries, local honey and homemade damper served onboard.

Captain Jack was great, lots of great stories and knowledge about the area. Jack shucked fresh oysters and offered them to everyone. The fresh garlic damper that Jack's mum made was delicious and he makes a great cup of tea. Especially great to see his Pelican friend Perch that greeted everyone that got on the boat. Nice morning out, probably not suited for young ones.

This was an exceptional trip in a boat. We found a brochure at the Perth Camper and Caravan Show that sparked our interest so when we got to Albany we went to the Visitor Information Centre to book a tour. They were full of praise for this tour and their recommendation added to our interest. Not only did we have 4 hrs on the water, we had close-up encounters with pelicans and witnessed sea eagles and other water birds up close. We had an excellent historical look at our surroundings from the owner (Captain Jack) who is funny, knowledgeable, funny, historically informed, funny, environmentally aware and active and did I mention funny. He even writes poetry which he exposed us to during the trip. (personal and thought-provoking rhymes) We had tea and coffee plus home-made damper, unlike any damper I have ever eaten. (Captain Jack’s Mum makes the damper and the recipe can be found on the website) We were given fresh strawberries to sample, grown locally and very delicious. We were also given samples of honey and lip balm made from his own bees. (The honey and lip balm can be purchased on the boat but cash only) Captain Jack takes a group photo and posts on his website.

A very engaging 4 hour trip on the water- beautiful views across Oyster Bay & up river, lots of local & historical snippets, pelicans & ospreys galore (a pair of eagles too) & a welcome cuppa & homemade damper following on from tasters of oysters, strawberries & honey. Our captain, Jack, knows his stuff & is full of mischief & fun!
