This is it! The one and only Alcatraz Night Tour from Alcatraz City Cruises. As compared to the Day Tour, it may feel a little bit creepier (haunted?) while having less crowds, added ranger or docent-led tours, and extra narration on the outbound ferry.
Plus, you will take a separate high quality excursion with spectacular views along San Francisco Bay. This can be done before or after Alcatraz, with daily departures; no reservations required.
First, select a date from the evening schedule. You get the Alcatraz prison tour, complete with headset audio (available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).
Considering how often the Alcatraz Night Tour sells out at the Pier 33 Box Office, this package is often a great way to get a ticket to Alcatraz and make memories going all along the San Francisco waterfront and out under the Golden Gate Bridge and back.

Alcatraz Island
Discover America’s most infamous prison... at night! It's less crowded and more docents leading smaller groups. It's also creepier then, with added features, but always a chance to go inside a cell and feel the cold and dark life firsthand. The award-winning 45-minute cell house audio headset tour covers escape attempts, riots, bizarre characters, and much more. Displays include prison life, guard controls, and how 3 inmates made their infamous “Escape From Alcatraz.” Alcatraz is one of the most popular tours in the country: • Video History Presentation – No Charge • Audio Tour has sound effects, interviews with prisoners & guards, and historic details • The Cellhouse Audio Tour is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. • Bookstore with information in many languages • Permanent exhibit The Big Lockup: Mass Incarceration in the United States • Other rotating exhibits • Prison recreation yard open to public
Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is quite impressive when seen from below! This easy 1-hour tour on a stable 300-passenger ferry boat makes for smooth sailing. Daily departures from 11:00 am let you control the clock. These boats all have a snack bar with Beer and Wine, restrooms, and indoor and outdoor decks. You'll take in fabulous skyline views of Fort Mason, Marina Green, Pacific Heights, Presidio and Historic Ft. Point, Angel Island, Alcatraz, and points around the SF Bay. The included audio tour is playable via on-board wifi to connect with your phone. Or simply enjoy the scenic ride and broadcast tour, moving around the boat at your leisure. The audio tour is available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Italian, French, Japanese, Korean, German and Taiwanese. Valid within 365 days from your date of purchase. Even on a sunny day the wind can be strong and the Pacific Ocean moisture can feel cool, so seasonally appropriate layered clothing is recommended.

This is a combination of 2 tours that you can buy separately and save $100 (Blues&Gold and Alcatraz). However, many times, these direct operators won't have tickets for the dates you need, all this is a great option. That said, the company is very responsive and helpful. may you have questions.

Too expensive for what it is. I had a lot of expectations and it's really not worth it. The tour does not take more than 40 min, it takes more time lining up to get on the ferry

Exciting, in depth & easy to follow audio tour. We didn’t stay the full 3 hours & very much appreciated the option to go back on the earlier ferry as it had been a long day! We will finish with ‘mans inhumanity to man’

The Rock. With the fog and night time atmosphere the island itself felt more "haunted" and eerie than exploring the cells themselves. There is a large incline zig-zag that needs to be traversed, but they did a mobility cart for those that need assistance. Additionally you are able to take any ferry back - as long as you don't miss the last one! (Giving you time to explore). Audio devices with headphones are provided with easy play and pause features to allow for you to pause as needed as you stroll through the prison. (This two part package allows you to see the Golden Gate Bridge as well as Alcatraz from the bay during the day.)

Both rides was great. You should be more clear on your website that it is 2 separate trips. When you look at the ticket you send it says: Review details click on it How to redeem click on it Takes you to this: How to Redeem Please present this ticket at the redemption point to receive your entry ticket. Before your tour/activity begins, visit a redemption location below to redeem this ticket for your entry ticket. Please note this is NOT where your tour/activity departs. REDEMPTION POINTS Pier 33 San Francisco, CA 94133, USA Blue & Gold Fleet Pier 41, San Francisco, CA 94133, USA I assumed by this we would be doing a cruise that dropped us off at Alcatraz. Thankfully we stopped at the Blue and Gold Fleet early enough to get on the cruise. Then head over to the Alcatraz departing dock. I feel you should have better instructions letting people know it is separate departures. So they don’t miss out.

The person I worked with (John) was great. He let me know that the night visit to Alcatraz had been canceled due to unknown reasons. He always kept in touch telling me what was going on and how to get to the Golden Gate boat tour. Thanks John

RECOMMENDATION: Just book these tours direct with the Alcatraz ferry and the Cruise company booking offices. Firstly, we have used Viator to book numerous tours. This is the first one we were disappointed with. We try to book tours that are small group tours, hence we selected this one. There were supposed to be only 8 on the tour. We received minimal instructions other than to go to Pier 33 show our purchase to get a ticket to catch the Alcatraz ferry. There was no indication on where to meet a guide. The ticket office just gave us tickets and told us to get on the next ferry. We tried to explain but they were not interested. We never met a guide and ended up doing the standard Alcatraz tour as any other person. However, we paid more than others because we were to be a small group tour and didn’t just go direct to the provider. I have been to Alcatraz during the day, night time was no different even though this tour suggests it will be. As for the cruise, we never got to that owing to it NOT being available after the Alcatraz night tour. We didn’t have any other time we could do it due to being on other tours during our stay. So we paid for this and did not use it. Extremely disappointing and a waste of our money. Would not recommend this tour.
