The origin of the Real Alcazar of Seville dates from the time of the High Middle Ages, although some areas of Islamic art that impress with its delicacy are preserved. In any case, Mudejar art and Gothic style predominate, but Renaissance and Baroque elements were added later.
Over the centuries, it has been the residence of the members of the Spanish Royal Family in Seville. Even today, it remains for the exclusive use of royalty, except for tourist visits.
This complex includes many wonderful features. The quaintest is the Patio de las Doncellas, with its ponds that reflect the intricate mudéjar plasterwork for which this palace is known for.

5.00Alvaro was a great guide, truly enjoyed it. The pace was comfortable (about 120 minutes), with just enough time for photos without feeling rushed. I appreciated the small anecdotes—how to read the tilework motifs, where to spot hidden inscriptions—which made the place come alive. Overall: gorgeous site + great guide = 10/10 experience.
