Alesund
Driving time 15 minutes Waldehuset was the only house in the eastern part of the town that did not burn down during the town fire on 23 January 1904. The entire town of Ålesund was on fire. Waldehuset was located in the middle of a large area with wooden houses, but was the only one that came unscathed from the flames. Come and hear the incredible story of the Miracle House in Aalesund

5.00This was a shore excursion for us. Rolf picked us up and returned us to the cruise ship port in his clean and comfortable small bus. He guided us around through undersea tunnels to Alnes lighthouse, the Giske medieval church from 1130AD (Giske is the birthplace of Norway), to the top of Mt Aksla (wonderful views of Alesund), and then though Alesund to view the art nouveau buildings built after the fire in 1904, the Molja lighthouse, the Alesund church and the Brosundet. We spent a good amount of time at each stop. Thoroughly recommend this tour with our friendly and knowledgeable guide.

5.00An excellent tour overall! We found Rolf & his impressive tour bus right near our ship port. The bus was very comfortable and kept nice and warm on a very crisp & cold day! Every stop was interesting & well timed. The photos & videos shared on the trip emphasized each stop. We are very happy we were able to spend our only day in beautiful Alesund under the guidance of Rolf, touring multiple islands and seeing so much of the breathtaking scenery and learning about local history.
