The Catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa. The catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa meaning "Mound of Shards") is a historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt, and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.The necropolis consists of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and archaeological objects of the Pharaonic funerary cult with Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences.

5.00This was an excellent overview of the highlights of Alexandria. Our driver Ammar picked us up in Cairo at our hotel was careful about whether we had any specific needs, offered to stop for drinks or restroom breaks, as needed. Our guide Ibrahim was extremely knowledgeable and really made this fun, answered all of our silly questions, but never pushed us to go faster than we felt comfortable, and made it a fabulous day.

Good points - nice bus - fast driver (max verstappen) - helpfull - we could make our own schegule Extra points - we had a free tourguide for the day - he had some great suggestions Extra opmerkingen: Alexandria is fun to visit, but if I hadn't been here, I wouldn't have missed much. Some sights were nice, but I didn't find the city itself very interesting.

5.00Our young guide Eman was lovely and really passionate. She gave us a very comprehensive historical breakdown based on each of the sites, monuments and museums we visited, providing a link between locations and their historical significance and context in the Egyptian culture also explaining the impacts of certain historical facts with the events that followed in the timeline. Eman was also very attentive to our needs, asking if we needed breaks or to have time to roam and observe on our own. As a license tourist guide, she also has a very good eye for the architectural and artistic side of the sites, and that's how we found out that it's because she also majored in arts on top of specialising as a tourist guide. We did our tour as a couple: my wife and I alone and Eman was absolutely perfect! I have to add that she was also known by all other guides and museums staff when going to sites and that more than one person took the chance to actually tell us she is "one of the best guides around". I would highly recommend Eman to anyone who wants a guide who offers knowledge, intelligence and passion. She is worth more than we thought and would definitely contact her again if a good guide is needed.
