Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa

Start your day with a visit to Alexandria, a stunning coastal city filled with history. Explore the ancient necropolis of Kom El Shoqafa, a unique burial site blending Egyptian, Greek, and Roman cultures. Discover its underground catacombs, intricate tombs, and three ancient sarcophagi. Learn how this site, dating back to the 2nd to 4th century AD, was rediscovered in 1900 when a donkey fell into its access shaft.

Pompey's Pillar

Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, a towering 30-meter red granite column with a fascinating history. Despite its name, it has no connection to Pompey. Built around 300 AD, it honors Emperor Diocletian and stands on what was once the Serapeum, a grand temple dedicated to the god Serapis. Learn how the site was destroyed in 391 AD during a Christian uprising led by Patriarch Theophilus, possibly including the Great Library of Alexandria. Today, visitors can explore the area, uncover tunnels, and see remarkable artifacts like a black basalt bull and a golden plaque at the Greco-Roman Museum.

My day trip to Alexandria was amazing. The driver Muhammed was amazing and very patient. The tour guid Manal was very knowledgeable, and well informed, and the lunch at the fish Market was very tasty. I would higher recommend this tour to anyone. Just ask for Muhammad and Manal

Amazing Tour Experience! The tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Nada, was incredibly well-versed in history, sharing fascinating insights throughout the journey. Not only knowledgeable, but also super caring and flexible—making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. The driver, Ahmed, did an excellent job as well. Even though it was a long drive, it was incredibly smooth. He was very vigilant and made us feel safe the entire time. Overall, it was a fun and memorable tour. Highly recommend!

Amazing Alexandria day trip Our day in Alexandria was one to remember! With our fantastic driver Abdo Ragab, we felt in good hands from the very start. We explored the Catacombs, climbed around Pompey’s Pillar, and took in the views from the impressive Qaitbay Citadel. One of the highlights was a peaceful yacht ride along the coast of Alexandria. Sipping traditional Egyptian coffee while looking at the city from the sea was such a special and relaxing moment. We also appreciated the stop at a local souvenir shop, where we found some truly unique items... far from the usual tourist spots. The whole day was perfectly planned, full of culture, beautiful sights, and thoughtful touches. Our driver was very careful and he took care of us. We 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt. A big thank you to Abdo for making it so memorable!
