Built on top of a cliff, the Chapel of Sra. Da Rocha allows you to admire the beautiful coast and rock formations. Heading west you will be presented to Ferragudo village, a traditional fishing village that overlooks the Portimão estuary. After crossing the Arade River though the old bridge, you will have the opportunity to contemplate from the top of the Fort of Santa Catarina viewpoint, the river, the mouth of the river and the long Praia da Rocha. Arriving at the charming city of Lagos an optional one-hour boat trip will amaze you as it takes our tourists to Ponta da Piedade caves and rock formations. A must do experience. The historic center still retains its distinctive character, with cobbled streets, authentic restaurants, and an atmosphere which is relaxed and welcoming. A fascinating and unforgettable tour along the coast. An amazing experience to remember.

What To Expect
Capela da Nossa Senhora da Rocha
On the magnificent promontory of Senhora da Rocha, there is the Chapel of Senhora da Rocha. According to historical sources, the Chapel was surrounded by an old fortress (15th century), which dominated the entire coast between Faro and Lagos, and protected the populations and the coast but the fortress was destroyed during the 1755 earthquake.

Walk along the cobbled streets of this picturesque village. You will have the opportunity to go up to the hill to the viewpoint of main church of Our Lady of Conception (Magnificent view for photos of Portimão City and Arade River). Descent to Angrinha Beach by Praia Grande

5.00Johnny gave us an excellent tour. We saw a stork farm (that's what we called it), quite a bit of fascinating coastline, and coastal boardwalks that gave great views. Johnny never rushed us and answered all of our questions. He has a great depth of Knowledge about the local environment, including problems with algae incursions, and local (Algarve) history.

5.00We so very much appreciated Johnny's texts to us preceding our day tour. He carefully arranged a boat tour to Beagil caves - perfect time of day and operated by a courteous and informative crew that took us along the beautiful coastline and into spectular caves. Johnny's tour included a stop to see handpainted tile work - so pretty! and lunch overlooking a beautiful beach. We stopped at several amazing overlooks. Thank you, Johnny, for a wonderful day!

It is as if you are traveling with a good friend that wants to show you all the amazing parts of this wonderful country. He catered the tour to the needs of my family and I. He showed us places along the Algavre that we would never have found on our own. He was very engaged with all of us including our 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I wish we could have continued this tour for many more days. I highly recommend booking this adventure well in advance as the spots fill quickly. Thank you Johnny!!

I can not underscore how special Johnny is. He takes time to give explanations and does not hesitate to answer questions no matter how small. 5.00We had an absolutely fantastic day exploring the Algarve coast with João as our driver and guide. From the very start, it was clear how passionate he is about the region, and that really made the experience stand out. What we appreciated most is how he constantly checked in with us — asking what we wanted to see, what interested us, and adjusting the tour accordingly. It never felt like a standard tour, but rather a fully personalised experience. João is incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire day. He even provided drinks during the drive, which was a very thoughtful touch. We visited some truly stunning hotspots and he also selected a great restaurant for lunch — exactly the kind of place we would never have found ourselves. Honestly, everything about this day was just spot on. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate — and if you can, ask for João. He made the experience exceptional. Highly recommended!
