The Alhambra
This is a complete visit to the Alhambra (tickets included): for about 2.5-3 hours we will show you what is considered by many as the most impressive monument in Spain. We will start by visiting the Generalife, an area of beautiful gardens and orchards where the Sultan had a palace that was used for personal enjoyment. After the Generalife, we will go to see the Palace of Charles V, a Christian palace in the heart of the Alhambra that will not leave you indifferent. In the Alcazaba, the defensive-military zone, we will be lucky enough to enjoy what are probably the best views of the city, and finally, we will visit the Nasrid palaces, the center of political and bureaucratic administration of the kingdom of Granada.
Generalife
Personal and private place of the Sultan for recreation, leisure, religion... also with agricultural functions, its beautiful gardens are one of the favorite places of the visitor.

We had a wonderful time at the Alhambra today. Our guide, Matias, was pleasant, knowledgeable, easy to talk with, fun and overall, terrific. The Alhambra is a huge complex and seeing such a large site and not getting overwhelmed by it all was amazing. Matias had us progress through the different areas in a sensible way so that we could understand the entire complex in a meaningful way. He used a tablet many times during the day to help emphasize a point or to show us more details or to help answer some of our many questions. He started off by showing us representative maps of the Iberian Peninsula showing us very clearly how the area changed over hundreds of years helping us to realize why Granada became the location for such a huge complex. Traveling through the complex he kept building on the information that he gave us. Once, when we stopped to take a picture of an interesting architectural feature that was outside the window we were passing, he stopped, explained exactly what we were looking at (the roof of the old baths) and then pulled out his tablet to show us more pictures and details about the baths as they are closed to the public. On another occasion, when we asked about the tile work, he pulled out a video and showed us how tiles are created. Our day was exceptional and we know that Matias was one reason for that. We highly recommend this private tour and Matias to everyone.

We had a private tour with Matias and couldn't be happier. Super knowledgeable, and with a real appreciation for the site, he made an historical monument come to life.

Wonderful customer service provided by Matias at Yannat travel. Matias provided some great advise about tickets and his responses were always timely. On the day, three of us were expertly guided through the Alhambra and grounds by Emilio. The tour was 3 hours with a short refresh break after around 2 hours. Emilio really brought the history to life with colourful explanations of the life and times of the Alhambra, which was helpful as the rooms within the site are empty of furnishings so you really must rely upon a description to understand how it was used, and what had changed during the eras.

We had an excellent tour of the Alhambra. Our guide Matías from Yannat Travel was outstanding. His historical and architectural knowledge were impressive and his delivery very engaging. He was brought up in Granada and he shared wonderful child hood memories of playing and picnicking in the grounds of the Alhambra. He also used an iPad very effectively to further explain architectural points. We had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matías.

Thanks to Matias for an insightful and educational tour of the Alhambra. The private tour was perfect to get the most out of your 3 hours. Matias was excellent - he has deep knowledge of the site, the city, and the culture. He also clearly communicated with us so we knew exactly where to meet, what to bring, and what to expect the day of the tour. Thanks Matias for an unforgettable day at the Alhambra.

A wonderful way to see the Alhambra. Emilio was informative and interesting to be with. He was mindful of doing things at our pace (huge advantage over being in a larger group in a crowded place). We are both fit and well but if you are at all worried about a long walk, a private guide would be ideal. The place itself is really at least three or four tourist destinations so you get your money's worth! Highly recommended.
