Salerno
Once a collection of fishing villages, Italy's magnificent Amalfi Coast is now a world-class tourist destination. But as is often the case, with great beauty come great problems. Too many vehicles, crippling traffic, too few parking areas, and hairpin curves that make two-way traffic unbearable, are just a few of the challenges faced by Italy's Amalfi Coast in recent years. This day trip from Rome allows you to travel smarter, without sacrificing on comfort or style. Visiting the Amalfi Coast by high-speed train means you'll not only enjoy extra legroom and complimentary beverages and snacks, but you'll also cut travel time to the coast in HALF. You'll step off the train and onto the pier where your Amalfi Coast adventure begins.
Positano
In an intimate group, your local expert will lead the way from the train to the ferryboat. Once seated, enjoy a one-hour cruise from Salerno to Positano the UNESCO World Heritage site of once-fishing villages-turned stomping ground for the world's elite. You'll step back onto terra ferma to explore Positano, the jewel of the Amalfi Coast. Choose whether to have a morning swim or explore the dozens of chic boutiques and artisan shops, then enjoy a leisurely lunch before returning to the pier for a short ride to our next destination, the town of Amalfi. It’s no wonder why this stunning coastline takes its name from Amalfi. This bustling town is where the action is, packed with shops, beaches, restaurants, and picture-perfect photo ops. Your guide will provide you with a short orientation stroll including an overview of the 11th-century cathedral and a limoncello tasting at one of the local shops, after which you can enjoy some free time shopping and exploring or hit the beach.

Amalfi Coast is Beautiful and so worth the trip. Our tour guide Maiou (please forgive me for the wrong spelling) is so passionate for his hometown and he gave us the passion for the love of his country. We swam at the beach, so lovely with the beautiful sun. The Lemon Sorbet was delicious, everyone should try!! The only issue and it’s a big one was the price. I paid for 3 tickets at $290 per person and my friend purchased 2 tickets for the exact same tour on the exact same date and paid $215 per person. I’m hoping Viator will do the right thing and refund me $225 The price difference is so unfair.

Outstanding views along the coast. Ferry transfers great, clean, and on time. A must if weather is blue sky, like ours was.

A great day trip from Rome. We lucked out with weather and we had a great guide that got us from the high speed train to the boat in Solerno with a great view of the Amalfi coast from Positano and Amalfi towns and back on the high speed train without a hitch. It’s A long day but well worth doing.

Mauro was an excellent guide making sure we knew some hidden places to eat, where the best lemon sorbet was, and ensuring we were all accounted for and arrived back at train station safely. Thank you Mauro for a wonderful time!
