Ranger Mo and master outdoor chef Harrison gave us an amazing time in the bush . We saw and heard so much beautiful animals . On our bushwalk we approached the black Rhino and we heared the leopard roaring at 30 m from us . Further we saw the eleohants , giraffes , baboons , crocodiles , hippos , etc … Mo is a very experienced and super friendly ranger who learned us so much about the African wildlife . After the game drive we reached our tented camp where chef Harrisons prepared us a delicious braai ! The next morning , after our bushwalk of several hours , he prepared us a super delicious breakfast with granola , fresh fruit and eggs and bacon … . The trail camp was a fantastic life time experience . We recommend it to everyone.

This tented camp is just an unbelievable experience. The location was breathtaking, the surroundings pure magic, and the guides were incredibly professional. It was honestly a once-in-a-lifetime moment, sleeping on the banks of the river, hearing hippos grunting and lions calling in the distance… goosebumps! The game drives were so good, we saw everything we hoped for and more, and the guides had such deep knowledge and passion for the wildlife. Every moment felt like it came straight out of a documentary. I’d recommend this trip to anyone. It’s not just a holiday, it’s something that stays with you. Truly unforgettable.

Villa Umkhaya is a wonderful villa, situated in a unique estate. The villa is furnished with great taste and luxury. You can feel the owners' love for Africa. It is a wonderful place to relax, in the villa, at the edge of the pool, on the magnificent terrace or around the boma. It is an ideal base to explore the Panorama route, the Kruger Park, the Limpopo province,... We would love to come back.

We really enjoyed our holiday in South Africa (Hoedpsruit). Your efforts made our holiday unforgettable. From the various game drives we made to the unforgettable trial camp. Everything was arranged by you down to the last detail. Many thanks to the guides during our various trips. If there were any higher marks to give than a 10, we would have given them to you. Partly due to your efforts, Hoedspruit has a place in our hearts. Wim, Janneke en Arjan van Persie

  • An absolute must do experience for safari lovers

I’ll start by saying we are fairly seasoned safari goers and, having been fortunate to have spent time at some high end lodges over the years, we are not easily impressed. Trails Camp - what a find! MyAfrica has quite simply, just got it right. The location, the furnishings, the food and, most importantly the people - everything was spot on. If you’re after an authentic bush sleep out, with the comfort of a tent, a (chemical) portable toilet and a view to die for, then this is the experience for you. I could wax lyrical for days about our guide, Werner, but two words really sum him up - simply awesome. We loved every minute we spent with him, learning about his vast experience as a guide. His knowledge of all things ‘bush’ was second to none, but the way he conversed with the elephants was like nothing we’d seen before. A true legend of a man that we were calling the ‘Elephant Whisperer’ by the end of our stay! Harry (our chef for the evening) and Stephen (camp aid) were both lovely too. Friendly and fun. We loved it so much that we are trying to rearrange our plans to allow us to return before we head home. Well done MyAfrica team. It was a pleasure being part of this new experience.

  • What an amazing experience from start to finish!

In early October, we went on a Trails Camp with MyAfrica with a group of four. Upon arrival at the meeting point, we immediately went on safari with Werner, our guide for the next two days. As we entered the park, he mentioned that two lions were nearby, having caught a waterbuck the night before. And indeed, after less than 10 minutes of driving, we saw the lions with their kill! Certainly not a bad start to the safari. The rest of the afternoon was also full of sights, with plenty of elephants, hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks, and much more. But what makes the park truly special in our eyes is the Olifants River. It naturally attracts many animals but also creates a stunning landscape. After a safari of about three hours, we arrived at the Trails Camp, beautifully situated in the partially dried-up riverbed. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by elephants and hippos at the river. The camp exceeded our expectations; the tents were luxurious with comfortable beds, there was even an improvised toilet tent, the food was good, and the staff incredibly friendly. After a welcome drink and some time around the campfire, we sat down for a delicious dinner prepared on the Braai. We enjoyed this wonderful evening with great conversations with Werner during dinner and by the campfire. The next morning we went on an early safari. The plan was to first do a short safari and look for fresh rhino tracks to follow on foot. It turned out that they were too far away and in a hilly area that was not accessible on foot, but luckily, we did find them thanks to Werner's tracking skills. Definitely a special mention for Werner; his knowledge and guiding skills are amazing! After a fun morning safari, we returned to the camp and were treated to a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately, after breakfast it was already time to leave. We would drive to the exit via a safari, but this took longer than expected. We drove past the spot where we had seen the lions with their kill the day before. But now, instead of the two lions from yesterday, we found three or four lionesses who had likely stolen the kill. It soon became clear that they weren’t alone, as we saw several lions and their cubs crossing the river from the other side. It was truly special to witness! Eventually, they joined the feeding lionesses. A once-in-a-lifetime sighting of lions first crossing the river and then enjoying their (stolen) prey! All in all, we will never forget this entire experience! Everything was so well organized, and the camp's location is breathtakingly beautiful. The fact that it is completely private makes it even more special, as it gives you the freedom to discuss and plan the safaris with the guide and even go on a bushwalk if you want. Once again, thank you to Werner and the rest of the staff for this unforgettable experience!
