Explore the Arctic wilderness! Your outdoor guide will lead you on a hike and show you the beauty of Lapland nature. You will learn some basic survival skills, how to take advantage of your surroundings or how to make a fire.
This hiking adventure takes you out of Rovaniemi, it provides a great opportunity to discover more of Lapland nature far away from the city.
Like all our experiences, it is operated in small groups only in order to allow a proper connexion with nature and avoid mass tourism.
Your guide provides explanation throughout the activity in English and French, and will gladly answer any of your questions.

What To Expect
Head into arctic nature and discover the beautiful wilderness of Lapland with this complete educational adventure. The hike is adapted to the level of the group with different difficulty options, and to the highlights of the season. This gentle hike is designed to explore some elusive nature area or reach some viewpoints over the immense subarctic forests. Along the way, your outdoor guide will explain to you about your surroundings, the fauna and flora, footprints in the snow, how to use trees or mushrooms, and some other basics of how to survive in such difficult conditions. A break with an open fire will also allow you to grill a typical Finnish snack with hot beverages. This is a great opportunity for your guide to show you how to build a fire in snowy conditions and answer all your questions about Lapland.

5.00We had not much experience in fire making and I learnt from this tour guide Herve. He was a very patient and an experienced tour guide. The wilderness was stunning in autumn and we felt refreshed after this hike. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

5.00I'm not much of a hiker, but this was a pretty easy hike, with a slightly tough spot in the middle. They offer walking sticks, and I'm glad I accepted that offer, because I needed those. We walked at a good, relaxed pace, and our guide stopped along the way to show us some of the flora and fauna and give us a few survival tips. The path we chose led to a small tower where we could take in the scenery and watch the sun as it was about to set. Then, we got to sit down by a campfire and relax. All in all a wonderful, enjoyable hike through a beautiful forest.

5.00Exceptional hike with our super guide Leo. The scenery was beautiful. Leo was very kind and taught us bcp of things. The fact that he is French was a real plus, we laughed! The Excursion is done in a very small group which allows us to go at our own pace and enjoy fully. I recommend 1000%!

5.00Human-sized agency making small group experiences much warmer and more family friendly. On top in every way. The experiences are varied and unforgettable. Guides have the desire and experience. For example, we went hunting for the Northern Lights with Christophe who made sure to explain everything about these phenomena and who struggled to make us great photos. We are far from the mechanical towers and without souls. You can go with your eyes closed! Enjoy

5.00Booked an easy hike with Chris a few km's outside of Rovaniemi. Not only did he arrange an amazing hike for me (with drone footage) but also gave me an in-depth hike and explained all the nature around us. We got to stop, make a fire and he brough sausages and coffee for us to eat, which he made fresh over the fire. After the hike was over he even gave us tips on where we could drive to in the evening to catch the Northern Lights and whilst we didn't see any (it was mid August) the location was stunning and we got to see some great views. We had also booked a reindeer tour which unfortunately we had to cancel for personal reasons, Chris and the team refunded the money to us for that in FULL. I couldn't recommend Chris and Nordic Odyssey more, went above and beyond and can't wait to go back to Lapland and tour with them in the winter!

5.00First it wasn't sure if the hike was going to take place as it had been recently snowing a lot. We could then go by using snowshoes and the hike exceeded our expectations by far. We had a great time with our guide Timo and the trail was beautiful. No other people were there while we walked through the fresh snow in the forest, enjoyed the view from a platform and in the end a nice view of the evening sky and the river.

5.00I did several activities with Chris in 4 days. Northern Lights, hikes and visit to a farm in Rennes. He has a great deal of knowledge that he shared with us. Tonight the Northern Lights were weak but we had a very good evening and learned a lot around a very nice small fire below-10 degrees. In addition, small group tours of 8 are very pleasant. Dynamic and fast to answer our questions. He picks us up from the hotel and has suitable equipment if needed. The hikes of 4 or 5km very nice with a great snowy view. What a memory... Despite the cold. Thanks to him my father and I had a great holiday in Rovaniemi so thank you to Nodic odyssey ☺️ ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................
