What To Expect
This Bilingual Tour in English & German is a creative small-group experience (max. 12 guests). Explore the elegance of Jugendstil on a creative walking tour through Schwabing, Munich’s historic bohemian quarter and the birthplace of German Art Nouveau. Guided by a knowledgeable architect and official tour guide, you’ll discover remarkable façades, floral motifs, and bold design ideas that defined this artistic movement. Along the way, hear fascinating stories about iconic figures such as Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee. We closely observe and frame four outstanding Jugendstil façades to capture their unique details. These visual impressions become the inspiration for our creative finale. After about one hour of discovery in Schwabing, we travel by subway to a contemporary artistic district on a former castle-yard site. Inside a heated shipping container, you’ll get hands-on with spray painting, creating four postcards using stencils based on the Art Nouveau treasures we explored earlier. Beginner-friendly, relaxed, and fun. This tour invites art lovers, families, and creative minds to immerse themselves in Munich’s rich artistic heritage. Best, Philipp

5.00Very exciting guided tour with a lot of input and enthusiasm explains the different buildings including historical background and classification in the style era. The special highlight, you can spray individual details of the buildings on postcards to take away with templates. Highly recommended!

5.00What a great and fun tour. Phillip was so friendly and informative about the different building/art styles. It was great to walk around and see the very different types of art deco - some mixed with baroque influence others more modern etc. We got to stop for a coffee/toilet first those that needed. We took our coffee to the last stop - the English Garden for the spray painting activity. This was so much fun and I was a little nervous but Phillip made it so easy - could happily have carried on for another 2 hours!! What a great combination and something a little different whereby you get to take home your own pieces of art!! Highly recommend!

5.00What an amazing tour! I had a wonderful time and would be so happy to have a chance to join Philipp's other tours as well, I'm sure they are as great as this one. Everything was carefully thought through, it is clear that Philipp put so much effort into making this tour fabulous. Interesting, fun, artistic and creative, what more could you wish for? 1 highly recommend joining any of the Philipp's tours if you want to actualy see Munich, youll get a new perspective and enjoy the sightseeing even more!
