Asakusa
First, you will don a kimono—the traditional Japanese garment—at a kimono shop near Asakusa Station. There are many types of kimonos available, and you can choose your favorite pattern and color from a wide selection. Because kimonos have a complex structure and are difficult to put on by yourself, a professional dresser will assist you. While some vendors in Asakusa rent out cheap imitation kimonos for tourists, on our tour you will wear genuine, time-honored Japanese kimonos.
Asakusa
Pass through the Kaminarimon Gate and you’ll find Nakamise Shopping Street stretching straight ahead to the main hall of Sensō-ji Temple. Countless shops line both sides of this street, offering traditional Japanese sweets, souvenirs, and a variety of authentic wares. As we make our way toward the main hall, we stop to sample snacks and pick up mementos, all while soaking in the lively, old‑world atmosphere of this bustling thoroughfare. The scene feels as though you’ve stepped back to Edo-era Tokyo—over 200 years ago when samurai once walked these very streets.
The rental kimono and dressing fee are included.

Takumi was very informative about all things Japanese history. He helped us navigate the shopping and food without any issues. Gave great information about the temple and the shrine as well as the Gods that grace the gates. Had fun and learned a lot. Recommend if you are ever in Japan

Even beginners can rest assured that the guide will assist them with everything from kimono rental to prayer manners. It was a great help to be able to take photos at Kaminarimon at a time when I was avoiding crowds. Eating around is just the right amount and you can enjoy a variety of flavors. This tour is perfect for those who want to know more about Japanese culture.

I felt the beauty of Japan with my whole body in a space encased in the scent of incense. It was a precious day to forget about the hustle and bustle of our times and to touch the heart of Japan in a relaxed time.

It was a good experience to walk around Asakusa in a kimono that even Japanese people rarely wear! I thought it would be mostly foreigners, but it didn’t come to mind because people from rural areas were also participating. It was a great tour, eating delicious food and enjoying Asakusa!
