Acropolis
Meet your guide at our office at Mitseon 2, Athens, 11742, at least 15 minutes before the starting time of the tour and start the tour with a visit to the Acropolis hill. On your way up, you will visit the Dionysus Theater, where all the famous ancient dramas and tragedies were first performed. You will walk around the stunning Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the sanctuary of the healing god Asclepius. On the top of the hill you will visit the Propylea, the Temple of Nike, the Erechtheion Temple, and of course the Parthenon; the symbol of democracy and western civilization. Dating back to 5th century B.C, these monuments are testimonials of the glorious ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. Take a short break before you continue to the Acropolis Museum, during which you can use the bathroom.
Acropolis Museum
Right after the Acropolis tour you will have the opportunity to visit the Acropolis Museum located just a few minutes walk from the Acropolis site. On the ground floor the exhibited artifacts reveal to you facets of the Athenian daily life; you get to know the wedding customs, the children's favorite toys, the healing techniques, the religious practices. On the first floor, you will experience standing at a breathing distance from the mysterious archaic statues of the 6th century B.C that once adorned the Acropolis. Be fascinated by walking next to the Caryatids and huge pieces of the Acropolis entrance. At the last floor, next to the breathtaking view of the Acropolis, one can admire the original unique in concept and artistic excellence Parthenon frieze.

An absolute must if you want to not just see the Acropolis but really understand the history behind it. Our guide Eli was fantastic! She was so informative and filled with knowledge. She made sure to take breaks, keep us in the shade as much as possible and take time for questions. Definitely include the museum option bc it really ties everything together and gives you a deeper understanding of the rich history of the Acropolis. The museum is beautiful and just enough so you don’t have to spend hours. Eli brought us to a variety of exhibits and again spoke about what each was as well as its importance. Once the museum tour is over, you can spend as much time as you want in the museum. My children loved the tour so it is great for all ages.

Our guide Irene was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and informative and had a great sense of humour. We opted for the Acropolis and Museum tour. After 2 1/2 hours in 30+ degrees at the Acropolis I was ready to hydrate and head to a pool. The Museum for me would have been a pass. All in all this was an excellent tour.

Lydia was AMAZING! She has so much knowledge to share and has curated such a wonderful and insightful tour. She began by making sure everyone had enough water (which she was sure to remind us to drink periodically as it was very hot outside) and went into the museum. We walked through and learned about everything we were about to see at the historical site. Following the museum, we began our climb up to the Parthenon. Lydia was sure to bring us to the very best spots for photos as she showed us each of the historical landmarks and took photos of each group when we made it to the top. Absolutely worth the money and would recommend to any Traveler visiting Athens!

I had an outstanding experience on the Athens: Acropolis, Parthenon and Acropolis Museum Guided Tour, thanks to our guide, Chrysa. Her knowledge of Greek history, archaeology, and mythology was truly impressive, and she brought the ancient sites to life with fascinating stories and insights. Chrysa was engaging, friendly, and incredibly well-organized, ensuring that everyone in the group could follow along and enjoy the experience. She explained the significance of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the museum exhibits in a way that was both informative and easy to understand. Her passion for Athens and its rich history was evident throughout the tour, making it much more than just a sightseeing visit. I left with a deeper appreciation of the city's heritage and culture. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have the opportunity to explore it with Chrysa. She made my visit unforgettable and was one of the highlights of my trip to Athens.

It is very full of information and history. It is a bit fast paced, so water is definitely your friend. Definitely head cover even for ladies. Camera and learning spirit is a must.

The booking was for 8AM ticket to Acropolis but the tour guide could not manage time properly and wasted a lot of time before entering Acropolis almost an hour late. By that time it was very rush inside. We booked this tour because we were not getting early ticket via Acropolis site but the tour did not delivered to promise. Guide was also not very engaging.

If you do one of these tours, go early! We had a great time in the morning and learned a lot but I think it would be tough when it gets hot later in the day.

Our guide, John was amazing. He was so caring and watched over us because we are older and the uphills were hard. He kept his eye on us the whole time and gave assistance. The whole experience will be a memory forever. We were so proud to make it to the top since my husband is a 3 time cancer survivor and recently had pneumonia and we both have COPD. The entire staff at our meeting place was helpful and caring. Thank you all
