Acropolis
Meet your guide at our office at Mitseon 2, Athens, 11742, at least 15 minutes before the starting time of the tour and start the tour with a visit to the Acropolis hill. On your way up, you will visit the Dionysus Theater, where all the famous ancient dramas and tragedies were first performed. You will walk around the stunning Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the sanctuary of the healing god Asclepius. On the top of the hill you will visit the Propylea, the Temple of Nike, the Erechtheion Temple, and of course the Parthenon; the symbol of democracy and western civilization. Dating back to 5th century B.C, these monuments are testimonials of the glorious ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. Take a short break before you continue to the Acropolis Museum, during which you can use the bathroom.
Acropolis Museum
Right after the Acropolis tour you will have the opportunity to visit the Acropolis Museum located just a few minutes walk from the Acropolis site. On the ground floor the exhibited artifacts reveal to you facets of the Athenian daily life; you get to know the wedding customs, the children's favorite toys, the healing techniques, the religious practices. On the first floor, you will experience standing at a breathing distance from the mysterious archaic statues of the 6th century B.C that once adorned the Acropolis. Be fascinated by walking next to the Caryatids and huge pieces of the Acropolis entrance. At the last floor, next to the breathtaking view of the Acropolis, one can admire the original unique in concept and artistic excellence Parthenon frieze.

It was the best tour we could have ever imagined! It was wonderful and very interesting! We can definitely recommend it! John paid a lot of attention to each individual, knew the best spots to take great photos, and the time flew by because the tour was so exciting. We can also recommend visiting the museum with a tour guide as well! Everything was very uncomplicated.

The tour is eye-opening. The tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and passionate about the site. and her job. This tour is highly recommended when visiting Athens, although the tour involves lots of steep hills and steps.

Guide was super knowledgeable and did an excellent job! The tour took a long time. I probably didn't recognize how long it was planned for when I signed up.

Such an informative trip! Our tour guide had a masters in archeology, so was very knowledgeable! He shared so many great stories. We learned a ton. There is a bunch of walking and climbing involved. The moderately physically fit warning should be heeded!

This was a fantastic tour of the Acropolis and the museum. We had skip the line tickets for both and had virtually no wait. We were all equipped with listening earpieces which made it very easy to hear all the info. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Be aware that this is a LOT of walking! Just be prepared.

Excellent guide, well organized tour. We felt that the timing was perfect and we were able to enjoy the acropolis early without all the later crowds. And we saw it under a double rainbow!
