This mini tour of Athens takes us to the most famous sites of the city, both ancient and modern. We will see the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament. Their uniform was introduced by King Otto of Greece and was inspired by the traditional clothes of the mountain warriors and bandits who formed the resistance to the Ottoman Empire.
We will also see the famous “trilogy” of buildings designed by the Danish architects Theophil and Christian Hansen: the Academy of Athens, the University of Athens, and the National Library. In grand neoclassical style, they represent the ambitions of the early Greek state.
Along with these more modern landmarks, we also see the stadium where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896.
We visit the monument known as Hadrian’s Arch, a distinctive Roman structure dedicated to Theseus and Hadrian, the founders of Athens.
Finally, we view of the Acropolis and the whole city atop Lycabettus Hill.

We had a fabulous tour with Sophia and Fanis. We were only in Athens a few days after my daughter's wedding in Santorini. We really wanted to see the highlights of Athens before going home. This tour was just perfect, capturing just enough to give us a wonderful feel for this ancient city. As we drove from site to site learning about Greek history, Sophia was very personable and answered all of our questions we had about current Greek culture. The tour ended with an excellent meal at an adorable family restaurant with delicious homemade Greek cuisine. Our party of 5 highly recommends this tour if you are looking for a day tour of Athens!

Excellent tour. Sophia our guide and Fanis our driver were brilliant. We had a very long stopover at airport for the day so decided to do this tour for the day. Pick up & drop off at airport was seamless. The van was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Sophia was a great guide and my children (9,8 & 4) all enjoyed the sites. The changing of the guard was a highlight for us all. Would recommend to anybody who wants a tour via car and has limited time. Children have had a great day and so have the adults!

This was the perfect tour to see some highlights of the history of Athens. Panos was our driver/tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for a more informative and friendly person! Panos is THE BEST! Highly recommend this tour.

We wouldn’t have been able to replicate this tour on our own as efficiently and effectively as we were able to on this tour. Sophia was very knowledgeable and we appreciated the comfort of the air-conditionined luxury van. We appreciated the tour so much!

Manolis our driver is so kind, patient, professional, and eager to share what he knows of the city. Arranging the tour was easy via WhatsApp the day prior; we had flown into Athens from Santorini with a long layover. With our luggage checked through to our destination, airport pickup and drop off was simple. We only had our carry-ons, and Manolis kept them secure for us while we toured many iconic sites - Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Parliament/Changing of the Guards, Olympic Stadium, and dinner/shopping in Plaka. Highly recommended! Thank you Manolis!

We had such a wonderful tour with Terry. He was a terrific driver and guide, taking us all around Athens showing us not only the well-known places, but also some hidden gems along the way that we definitely would not have seen without Terry's guidance. He asked my children (11 & 13.5) about their interests and took us somewhere the tour doesn't usually go, to accomodate their interests. It was such a great introduction to Athens. We would not hesistate to book CAT Taxi again for any touring or transport needs.

I recommend Terry and his colleagues 1000%!! We met Terry 4 years ago and this summer we came back to Athens for a day before venturing out to the Greek islands. Terry felt like a member of our family and took care of us as if we are friends. We only had a day so wanted to cram as much in as possible and Terry made sure of it ! Terry even remembered which stores we went to 4 years ago to buy sandals and brought us to the same store this time so we can stock up on some high quality Greek merchandise. Highly recommend. See you again hopefully Terry!

Prompt. Professional. Honest. Helpful. Dimitris Sakkis of CATTaxi is all of this and more! Dimitris served as our driver for our week in Greece - whenever we wanted to go somewhere we would just message Dimitris and he would meet us wherever we were in the city and promptly take us to our destination. He's very friendly, informative, and truly has a kind heart. He made such a huge difference in our time in Greece. You will not be disappointed with CATTaxi at all - truly exceptional!
