• Very authentic experience - 5 day Atlas mountain and Sahara desert tour

  It was amazing! As someone who usually travels without a guide, I was unsure what to expect and was scared to be disappointed due to stories you read online of bad experiences with tours in Morocco. With Atlas Trekking Morocco, I had absolutely nothing to worry about! Booked the 5 day Atlas mountains and Sahara tour as a group of 4 friends and we were received with care by our guide Rachid and our private cook Abdul in the Atlas mountains. The guys were relaxed and always ready if you needed anything like some warming mint tea. Amazing trek and flexible route based on the season, while there was snow on mount Toubkal in March still, we got an iternerary that took us to see other very beautiful scenery. Also great that the trek's start and endpoints were not the same, so we saw a lot. Meanwhile we met some other tour groups that seemed to stay in a village and simply walk up and down the same path. For this reason alone, Atlas Trekking Morocco took the price for us! Food was fresh and specially prepared for us by our chef who hiked a parallel shorter road together with a donkey to carry some luggage and the food. Had one lovely picknick on the mountain, for the second trekking day it was too windy so we shifted to have lunch at the guesthouse. Dinner was filling and had a lot of variation in what was in the tajine! Accomodation was simple in the mountains, but very welcoming. The days after we had a lovely hotel and an amazing desert glamping! A few lunches were not included, but we were brought to great restaurants on the road. They served traditional food like tajines and were priced fairly. Based on our experience, Atlas Trekking Morocco is a very very good agency to book a tour with, so look no further!

  

  

  

  

• Brilliant hiking and desert tour

  We made contact with Khalid and Atlas Trekking Morocco a few weeks before our holiday in Morocco. Khalid set up a great trek to Saghro according to our demands. Communication was easy, as Khalid was fast to answer our emails. Khalid teamed us up with the brilliant guide Omar, who led us on the 6 days/5 nights hike. Everything seemed to be well planned, and the food was also very good. After we told Omar we would like to visit the desert as well during our holiday Omar suggested we could extend our trip to Merzouga after the hike ended. So we did, and the trip was extended by two days. This was also covenient for us, as this saved us a lot of travelling. Before the hike even started we struggled with missing luggage, and Khalid was kind to postpone the trip by a day, in hopes of us receiving the luggage. When the luggage did not come in time Omar took us to a big sports store to help us buy the necessary clothes and equipment.

  

  

  

• Atlas mountain waterfall hike

  We did a hike up the Atlas Mountains from the Azzaden valley to a waterfall. It is an ascent of 3 hours with spectacular views along the way. The waterfall is beautiful too. Our guide, Rashid, was knowledgeable and experienced. We had 3 children with us between the ages of 8-12 years- he was good with the kids taking time to explain things to them along the way and gently helping my daughter who was fearful during the descent (the gravel is loose so it’s easy to stumble). Rashid kindly cut me a walking stick from nearby shrubs which was a godsend as I am not as fast or sure footed as the rest of the family. There was a mile available to sit on if anyone got tired. The mule herder made us an excellent lunch at the stop point. The descent took about 2 hours. All in all a brilliant day out.

  The trip we took with Khalid and Atlas Trekking exceeded all of my expectations! My two friends and I customized a 2 day trek in the Berber villages combined with 3 days exploring western Morocco where we spent a night in the Sahara. Khalid organized everything, allowing us to relax and enjoy Morocco to the full extent. On our trek, our local guide Abdel and our chef kept us entertained with food and new card games, we laughed the majority of the time on our insanely gorgeous hikes. On the way to the Sahara, Khalid showed us amazing restaurants and always stopped to let us take a picture of the Moroccan landscapes. He has an answer to every question, and we tested him by asking a lot about Morocco. Thanks to Khalid this is the best tour I have ever been on and when I come back, I’m 100% sure I’ll travel with them again! :)

  My friends and I had an amazing time with Atlas Trekking and Khalid during our time in Morocco! We split five days in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara. Every day we were blown away by what was in store. We spent the first two days in the Atlas mountains with a local guide - so local we trekked past his parents home! Our guide was super kind and informative, and passionate about his roots and culture and about sharing it with us. After spending nights in local guest houses, learning card games (ronda!) and important words in Berber (ishwar askif), we headed towards the Sahara with Khalid, stopping along the way at different view points, great restaurants and well thought out accommodations. Not only was the tour well planned but the personal touches like trying tangos, getting ronda cards and solving riddles around a bonfire made the experience a 11/10! I already know I’m coming back with Atlas Trekking to summit Mt. Toubkal. And a ronda rematch is in the books :)

  Khalid set up an amazing tour for my friends and I. We customized an atlas hiking/Sahara trek and Khalid made sure to plan everything to our interests. His choices of trekking guide (Abdul) and chef (Ibrahim) were wonderful and made the lunches and evenings extremely entertaining with plenty of conversation and card games. The accommodation was all well chosen and comfortable, if not even nicer than we expected. Khalid was willing to change up the itinerary midway through based on our wishes, and answered every question we came up with. Khalid also knows everyone we come across and always brought us to good food spots and viewpoints. Overall, DJ Khalid was accommodating, generous, extremely good at cards, and runs a great business. Glad we chose him for our time in Morocco.

  We did the 4 day excursion to Toubkal and the Sahara. Khalid was our tour guide and he was amazing! He was so informative about the history of the different locations, knew exactly where to bring us for food accommodations, and had everything set perfectly. This tour went as smooth as it could go. Khalid clearly had a lot of experience hiking, and made sure we got to the summit of Toubkal safely. As for the tour itself, it truly was an amazing experience. I recommend this tour to anyone that is coming to Morocco for a shorter period of time, as you get to see and experience a lot in those 4 days.   One of the best trips I ever took. I was complete surprised with Morocco as a country and my overall view on everything we did was completely shaped by Khalid, our amazing guide. Everything was curated, local, informative, fun and unique. Atlas Trekking really went out of their way to make our family trip as memorable as possible. They booked the hotels, excursions, transportation, and food and everything exceeded our expectations by a landslide. We spent ten days going around the country from Rabat to Fez to the Sahara and everywhere in between. The most personalized and unique experiences. Our guide Khalid was nothing short of amazing, he was patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable about his country. There were 9 of us and he was incredibly understanding with all of our individual needs and wants. 10 out of 10 I would recommend Atlas Trekking and specifically Khalid, you will not be disappointed.

  The trip of a lifetime! Our group of 9 set upon a 10 day journey in the beautiful country of Morocco. Our incredible guide, Khalid, took great care of us every step of the way and Atlas Trekking is responsible for the wonderful memories we will take home with us. Khalid helped us plan a customized 10 day tour from late April to mid May 2024. We traveled to Rabat, Fes, Arfoud, Sahara Desert, Ouarzazate, and Marrakech. Khalid answered all of our questions in prompt fashion and catered to our, sometimes demanding, requests to ensure our dream vacation was met. We were provided with a detailed itinerary well in advance of the trip. Once we arrived to Morocco every single detail was carefully and professionally planned out to ensure the only thing we had to worry about was enjoying our time experiencing this wonderful country. Our transportation was comfortable and always on time. The hotels and riad’s were simply magnificent. Our rooms were ready when we arrived and bags were taken immediately to our doors, we didn’t have to lift a finger. The meals were delicious and our tables were ready the moment we walked in the door. Our days were jammed packed with unique experiences and exciting excursions that we will remember forever. I cannot say enough about the care and attention to detail that Kahlid and Atlas Trekking provided. They made the trip what it was. Khalid is unbelievably knowledgeable about the history and culture of his home country. He is personable, friendly and made us feel safe every step of the way.   So this is the first time I ever took a organized trip with a guide and a driver to anywhere. We took a trip to Morocco with my cousin and my other cousin and my ex-wife and my two boys and my other cousins son and his wife and one of my son’s girlfriend and it was the most amazing trip I ever could imagine. The guide Was amazing. His name is Khalid. He knows the country inside out. Then I found out that he actually got trained to be a guide. He took a course for one year and was certified by the Moroccan government, plus He had experience. We went to places that I would never imagined existed and the experience was amazing. I highly, highly, highly recommend Khalid and his company Atlas Trekking Morocco to be used for this Moroccan experience. I can go on forever, but I won’t bore you with the details.
