What To Expect
North Head Historic Reserve
The location of Maungauika at the entrance to the Waitematā Harbour made it an important coastal defense. It was fears of a Russian invasion in the 1880s that led to the construction of a fort and the three disappearing gun batteries dotted along the maunga (mountain).
Mount Eden
Mount Eden is the highest volcano among Auckland's 52 volcanos. It is 196m tall. From the summit, you can enjoy spectacular views of the city and its Harbours.

5.00This is actually a review of the half-day tour (see below). Well organized. It includes the highlights that you want to see when you have a short time in Auckland. Tour guide Sean was great. Friendly, accommodating, informative. We booked the full day tour, but the only difference was that was to it include a trip to the War Memorial Museum (ticket NOT included). But the vast majority of the museum happened to be closed that day. But the tour company reimbursed the difference (not including the Viator commission). Kudos to them.

5.00Our guide was amazing! She was punctual & courteous and guided as through the most amazing highlights with great knowledge of each one of them. All of it was just breathtakingly beautiful. The history of Mount Eden & One Tree Hill was very interesting. Our final stop was at the Kew Gardens showcasing a Winter Garden, the Temperate House and the Fernery. We couldn’t have asked for more. 5.00The tour was accompanied by a great guide. We never had time pressure and a lot was explained. All described points were approached. There were only two of us on the road with the guide. Finally there was a slideshow of the pictures he took with us, via WhatsApp. Really great!!

5.00Had a blast going around with Lenna, our tour guide, who brought us all around Auckland. She was lovely and when the weather turned bad, she did everything she could to make it comfortable for us. Her charm and humour truly got to us both. She was very knowledgeable about the city, shared her own anecdotes and her own experiences with the city. Highly recommended for those who are looking to get to best bits of Auckland in a relatively quick fashion.
