I cannot recommend this driver enough! From the very beginning, I told him everything I wanted to do during my trip, and he made it all happen seamlessly. He helped plan everything, provided great recommendations, and made sure we got to every destination safely and on time. Most importantly, I always felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. His professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail made our experience unforgettable. We had an amazing time, created wonderful memories, and truly enjoyed every moment. If you're looking for reliable transportation and someone who can help make your trip stress-free and enjoyable, book with him—you won't regret it! Thank you again for everything. I'll definitely be back soon!

Augusnel Tour Haiti truly is the besttour guide. Hiking in the mountains of Ayiti with Augusnel is not for the weak at heart, it’s a test of endurance and spirit that mirrors the strength of the Haitian people themselves. Each step through the rugged terrain reminded me of their determination and willpower, connecting me deeply to nature and the ancestral planes that guide this land. After the climb came serenity: a relaxing beach day where the waves whispered peace and the food embodied the warmth of Haitian hospitality. Augusnel Tour Haiti understood my mission and vision perfectly, delivering an exceptional, personalized experience that made me feel safe and cared for. From the breathtaking views of Cap-Haïtien to the tranquil shores, every moment reflected the soul of Haiti. Our visit to Marion was a powerful reminder of the country’s abundant resources and the ongoing challenges its people face, yet their resilience shines through it all. This journey was more than travel; it was a reconnection with heritage, strength, and hope. Haiti is a dimensional plane, a portal into the soul; to truly experience her, one must arrive with pure intent and the right heart. Thank you Augusnel! You do it safe and you do it best!

If you’re visiting Cap-Haïtien and want to experience the history and landscape of the north with someone who truly knows it, Augusnel is your person. He took me to three very different sites over two different days: Bois Caïman, Waka Basen, and Chouchou Bay. Beyond the knowledge, Augusnel knows the terrain. Some of this area is not easy to navigate, and his ability to move through it confidently and safely made all the difference. He was also consistently pleasant throughout; easy to be with, unhurried, and genuinely engaged. Whether you’re Haitian diaspora reconnecting with your roots or a first-time visitor to the region, I’d recommend Augusnel without hesitation.

Based upon near-unanimous Excellent reviews, I chose Augusnel over three other Haitian vendors for essentially the same private custom-built tour for solo travel to Haiti 21-25 May 2026 as my 193rd and final country, a capstone celebratory experience which I willingly paid top dollar for. I initially contacted Augusnel in mid-Dec 2025 and reached a final itinerary and price with him in mid-Mar 2026. Against my better judgement and objection, Augusnel insisted on performing all coordination for travel via WhatsApp until such time as the itinerary was final and he had received my deposit (50% of the agreed-to price). Coordination of a detailed itinerary was difficult using WhatsApp, and I told Augusnel this, but he said there would be no worries because he would provide an "official detailed itinerary" via email documenting all that we had agreed to within the WhatsApp messages as well as the 2-3 phone conversations we had. In early Mar 2026, I paid the deposit, but then Augusnel did not provide the promised "official detailed itinerary" via email as he had promised to do. So on Mar 19, I wrote the "official detailed itinerary" and emailed it to Augusnel. He read it, but ignored it. So I called him, and he said no official email was required, that everything was as stated in our WhatsApp correspondence and as remembered in our phone conversations. Feeling uneasy with that method of understanding, I asked him to acknowledge the email I wrote him, and he replied on Mar 26 "Good morning Mr. TJ, Yes you're correct. All is confirmed in this official itinerary." So with that, I figured Augusnel would use the following 2 months to coordinate to provide the services I had contracted with him for. Of particular note, our contract stated that it: "Included 5 days services of Mr. Augusnel Charlot as English-speaking guide/driver for all activities listed in the itinerary". When I arrived in Haiti I quickly discovered during my three touring days that Augusnel had set aside and completely ignored the "official detailed itinerary" email contract, and instead reverted to the standard generic day tours he has offered to cruise ship passengers for the past 12 years. Since he had no intention of providing the custom-crafted items from the "official detailed itinerary" and therefore had not pre-coordinated for them, the particular sites I wished to see were not included nor were the highlight two cultural performances I wanted to experience. Keep in mind that Augusnel had compiled the overall price and therefor has collected the fees for the custom itinerary items, and I paid him in full for the added services. Additionally, Augusnel did not act as my English-speaking guide for 3 days, so I was unable to ask some of the detailed probing questions I had, because the assigned guides simply did not possess the necessary English comprehension to understand and answer. When I telephonically questioned why the Bois Caiman voodoo ceremony was not being provided as per contract, Augusnel belittled and berated me in a one-way 10 minute shouting session over the telephone speaker that was embarrassingly listened to by the guide and the two persons I had paid an additional $30 to to provide a Bois Caiman explanation. There is much more that could be written, but these are the highlights of why I rated the GUIDING portion of my tour as Poor. But as SAFETY was the fundamental driving force for the arrangements I made with Augusnel, I would provide a 5-bubble Excellent for Safety. In summary, still take caution and trust your "spidy senses" when all the reviews are 5-star.

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide in Haiti. From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure we were safe and enjoying every moment. What stood out the most was how comfortable and taken care of we felt the entire time. He knew the best places to go, helped us navigate everything smoothly. If you’re visiting Haiti and want someone you can trust who truly knows what they’re doing, I highly recommend booking with him. 10/10 experience.

An enthusiastic review and recommendation for the tour-guide services of Augusnel Charlot, from a USA traveler who visited Cap-Haitien and nearby areas in early 2026. Augusnel has guided visitors for more than a decade, focusing on the cultural and natural richness and beauty of north Haiti, though he can also show you around other parts of the nation (for example, Jacmel, Jeremie, and Les Cayes). I contacted Augusnel well in advance of my four-day trip. We worked out an agenda that included airport pick-up and drop-off, a walking tour of in-town Cap-Haitien sites and its colorful architecture, Labadee village, the awesome and world-famous Citadelle Laferriere (getting up there is half the fun!) and Sans Souci palace, and a full day of turquoise-water boating (with a lunch of freshly caught, deliciously cooked seafood) to idyllic tropical Amiga Island and Cadras Beach. He can offer suggestions and tailor-make an itinerary that suits your exact travel desires. People around the area know Augusnel, and he also engages trusted assistants for boat captaining, meal preparation, etc., as needed. Whether you’re a solo traveler, in a small group, in a large group, on vacation, or on business, Augusnel is the one to welcome you to Haiti. (To note, U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere for everything and can easily be exchanged for gourde too. Be sure to get some pretty souvenirs at the Cap-Haitien Marche Artisanal and on the way to/from the Citadelle.) Augusnel speaks fluent Creole, French, and English, and knows some Spanish too. He thoroughly understands the nation’s history and local lore, so your visit will be enriched with not just the sights and sounds of Haiti, but also the meaning of what you’re experiencing. You’ll enjoy the general warmth, friendliness, and good cheer of the many local people you encounter along the way. Augusnel, with great courtesy and professionalism, will work with you before and during your trip and keep you fully informed. So, explore some ideas online of what interests you; learn some basic words and phrases in Creole (it’s a beautiful language and great fun to make initial conversation); and contact Augusnel to be the trusted, knowledgeable guide for your visit to Haiti.

I only had a day in Cap Haiti and was traveling solo. Augusnel picked me from the airport, gave me a tour of the town and the key sights, then dropped me off at my hotel. He is a knowledgeable guide and told me a lot about Haiti and its people. I would recommend him to anyone looking for something similar or more.

I had a fantastic trip to northern Haiti with my son, nine years old. This was his first visit since he was 2 and Augusnel was amazing at making it suitable for him and all his interests, from having his hair braided to playing football with local kids. It was a smooth and positive experience start to finish, and I especially valued Augusnel’s open communication and precautionary approach. This was a really special and important trip for us and I am grateful to Augusnel for making it possible!
