The Ellora Caves are an impressive complex of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain cave temples built between the 6th and 10th centuries AD near the ancient Indian village of Ellora. The caves have a slightly less dramatic setting than those at Ajanta, but more exquisite sculptures. Ellora is a World Heritage Site and the most visited ancient monument in Maharashtra State.

What To Expect
Ellora
Ellora (also known as Elura and, in ancient times, as Elapura) is a sacred site in Maharastra, central India. The Ellora Caves are listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and is celebrated for its Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain temples and monuments which were carved from the local cliff rock in the 6th to 8th century CE. The most spectacular example is the 8th century CE Kailasa temple which, at 32 meters high, is the largest rock-cut monument in the world.
Daulatabad Fort
Impregnable fort of medieval Deccan Daulatabad fort was one of the most powerful forts of the medieval Deccan. The defense system that made Daulatabad virtually impregnable comprises fortifications with double and even triple rows of massive walls. In addition, there are ingeniously built mazes with a complex arrangement of entryways and deep rock-cut moats and trenches which can be crossed only at one point, over a drawbridge. The defense mechanism of rock-cut subterranean passage is unbelievable.

5.00Fantastic trip to Ellora Caves We had an amazing day visiting Ellora Caves with JK Tours & Travels. Both our driver Tauheed and our guide Joshi were outstanding. My sister and I had booked a private tour that included Ellora Caves and a few additional stops. Our guide, Joshi, was extremely knowledgeable and shared many fascinating historical details that made the visit even more special. His explanations truly brought the history and beauty of Ellora to life. Our driver, Tauheed, was equally wonderful. He happily stopped at extra places whenever we wanted to buy cold water or take a short break, which made the whole trip feel very comfortable and relaxed. Both Tauheed and Joshi were kind, attentive, and highly professional throughout the day. We warmly recommend JK Tours & Travels in Aurangabad to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for such a fantastic day and for giving us unforgettable memories! We also booked Tauheed for drop off to the airport. Everything went so smooth. As a driver he is 10 out of 10.

5.00He is a kind and safe driver. I had no problem without a guide. We probably overran it quite a bit, but they were patient. It is recommended to book a driver as taxiing around remote tourist areas can be a challenge.
