Where to begin? A fabulous trek with an incredible team. There were two of us, and we were pampered by the Vidal Expedition team. Ansangate is a captivating mountain, and it must be experienced with people who reveal its spirituality to you. Every day we went from glacier to glacier, from color to color, from discovery to experience. The expedition was very comfortable with top-notch equipment transported by our horse driver Angel. We ate more than enough thanks to our cook Beni and our assistant cook Euden, and we were expertly guided by our guide Chino. Thank you all for your good humor and smiles, thank you for all these memories that will forever be in our hearts. This mountain has changed us; there are places and mountains where you leave a little piece of yourself.

An incredible expedition, a great team, indescribable landscapes, thanks to Chino our guide for his passion for the mountains and sharing his knowledge. And thanks to the Pachamama for allowing us to do this trek in December without too much rain.

Great experience! We did the 5 day/4 night Ausangate trek with rainbow mountain excursion. I found the trek difficult, but manageable. Our guide Urbano (Chino) was excellent, and very encouraging and knowledgeable about the area. The whole team was great, our chef Benigno was amazing. The others Angel and José were kind and always very efficient and fast at their set up. Everything went very smoothly. Would definitely recommend and travel with Vidal Expeditions again!

I had an amazing experience on my 5 day Ausangate Trek with Vidal Expeditions, our guide Guillermo, and the entire crew. From start to finish the entire team was extremely professional and provided an unforgettable experience. Guillermo did a great job of guiding us through incredible landscapes and weaving in cultural knowledge and stories. I felt like I came away with a better understanding of how the people have lived here for hundreds of years and some of the traditions they follow and live by. The trek itself was just stunning and the entire time you felt isolated and far away from everything. We very rarely saw another group. The views of Ausangate and the surrounding landscapes will be etched in my mind forever, no doubt! Thanks again for a great life experience. I look forward to the next trek!

We went to Ausangate 3 days where we finished in a mountain of colors, our guide Jesus was one of the best, always taking care of us and offering the best, very informative and attentive. Our friends with the horse were also very friendly and always willing to give us good service. The food and equipment were always first class. The hike is very demanding, with camps over 4600 meters and points where the road reaches over 5,000. Very grateful to have done this hike and to know amazing places. Highly recommended for everyone.

We were incredibly well looked-after by Vidal Expeditions Team on our five-day Ausangate Trek. Our guide, Guillermo, was generous in sharing his vast knowledge of the area, its wildlife, and the local culture. Guillermo was also very good company on the trek and we enjoyed spending time with him. Our chef, Benigno, was an absolute marvel, producing a wide variety of delicious food three times a day from his camp kitchen. We will miss his food and his laugh, which was infectious. Angel, the horseman, looked after our gear so well, and worked really hard putting up/taking down tents, and helping Benigno with all the camping chores. We were also grateful for the good gear that was provided, and to Vidal for running the trek for just the two of us. We have backpacked through the Himalaya and did find the Ausangate area could be just as cold as there in the evenings and overnight, so we recommend taking the warmest mountain gear you can muster. The rewards in seeing the Andean mountains and culture up close are phenomenal and I highly recommend Vidal Expeditions for any trip you'd like to do whilst in beautiful Peru. The Ausangate Trek we did was also amazingly empty of other trekkers, which is becoming a rare thing for such a well-known route, and which we thoroughly enjoyed. Vidal Expeditions totally exceeded our expectations, professional and caring. I did a lot of research before choosing Vidal Expeditions, and we are thrilled to have made the right choice:). Thank you to all the team!
