  Booked this as a solo traveler, part of my 6 week backpacking trip up the east coast and I had the best week ever with the surf bus. Everything was so well planned out from the surfing to the food to the camping set up. I improved my surfing so so much in this week also while making memories with the best people. I would’ve just done this trip six times in a row if I could! To top it off Seb is the coolest guy ever!

  I cannot recommend this trip enough!! As an American college student studying abroad in Sydney for the winter, I thought this would be the perfect way to end my Australian adventure, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Seb’s attention to detail and genuine care for each guest really stood out. I was a little sick at the beginning of the trip and stopped to buy ginger tea, and Seb actually saw me and bought it for me. That moment really summed up how he goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has an amazing experience. As a solo female traveler, I also felt incredibly safe the entire time. I had some prior surfing experience, but this trip is definitely beginner-friendly as well. I loved meeting different instructors each day and exploring new surf spots. What really set this experience apart was the focus on helping us become independent surfers. We learned how to use Surfline, read forecasts, assess beach and geomorphic conditions, and understand proper surf etiquette (which not every coach teaches!). It was so empowering to see how much I improved over the week, I even felt confident trying a smaller board. The accommodations were also a highlight. The campsites were nicer than many I’ve stayed at in the U.S., one even had a pool bar and hot tub! All had hot showers, bathrooms, and most had WiFi. The swags were comfortable and easy to set up. I was a bit nervous about the food since I’m a picky eater and don’t usually eat much vegetarian food, but everything was honestly delicious. It’s clear Seb puts a lot of thought into creating great meals. Overall, I had an incredible time on the Surf Bus and would encourage anyone considering it to go. When you are in Byron Bay, you should definitely go to the Great Northern to watch the pianos because it was so much fun! If you end your trip in Brisbane, I’d also highly recommend staying at the Pullman Airport Hotel if you’re flying out the next day, as it was a great place to relax after a full day of surfing!

  Joined solo and unable to surf and had the best of time! There was a variety of surf levels in our group but the surf instructors were great at helping and supporting everyone in their improvement journey! The food and sleeping arrangements were great! Thanks Seb for a lovely time!

  My sister and I signed up for the Sydney to Brisbane 6-day, 5-night Surf Bus Trip, and it was the best thing we could have ever done. Everything from the food, camping locations, and surf instructors to the surf locations and so much more was top-notch. Seb worried about every detail and has created one of the best, most authentic Australian experiences.   SUPER RECOMMENDED !!! I joined the Surf Bus alone and, really, that took second place right away, because you end up connecting with people in a very genuine way. The whole experience feels like a reset: rich and healthy food, daily surfing and a very special energy. One thing that I highly value is Seb’s respect and support, both for the places we visited and for the people we met. The walk with Ambar, a First Nations woman, was a very significant moment, she shared about her culture and medicine in a very authentic way. Seb is a genius, transmits a lot of passion as a coach, has incredible energy and is in all the details for everyone to have a good time, that shows. I loved doing it with him!!! • Perfect surf trip to explore the east coast

  I highly recommend this trip with Seb! Every little aspect is perfectly arranged. You camp at beautiful campsites, have a surf lesson at a different beautiful bay everyday and get lovely walks in the evening to explore wildlife and the indigenious culture. Seb is running this trip with great passion and is making sure everyone in the group has a great time. Thank you Seb, it has been amazing!

  I had the absolute best time on the surf bus! Everything is so well organised. I was able to learn how to surf within a week. All thanks to Seb and the great surf instructors on the trip. In Addition we were able to see the australian wildlife and stay at beautiful campsites along the way. Would totally recommend this experience!!

  The trip was chaotic in the best way with so many unexpected moments. Seb is absolutely wonderful caring and always looking after everyone on the trip. All the instructors along the way are very nice and supportive completely beginner friendly, it’s a really unique way to see this part of Australia! RECOMMEND!!

  One week on the Australian Surf Bus was an incredible experience to say the least. It was filled with kind people, super surfspots and guides (all so chill and ready to cheer you up on every wave), good music, lots of wildlife and wonderful activities! Seb was the best host: if there was a problem he immediately helped solving it to make the week the most enjoyable and memorable for everyone.

  Seb is so lovely and everything was perfect!! I really appreciated the fact that he introduced us to every First Nations country we drove through along the road trip and the history of Australia. Lots of nature walks and never got bored. Definitely recommend for solo travellers looking to meet new people or for friend groups! Such a supportive environment and you meet some real cool surf coaches along the way too.
