Colombia is an amazing country and its people are so welcoming and friendly! In this tour we had the opportunity to meet Juan David (our excellent guide) and a Kogui community that kindly hosted us. They welcomed us in their village and showed us around so we learned about their way of living, their culture and we meet the locals and children at school. They cooked a delicious traditional meal with local ingredients and we also had some time to swim in the river. To get to the kogui village we walked in the mountains for about two hours (it was a proper hike, not a “walk in the park”, and it was well worthy) The views and nature surrounding us were impressive and we learnt a lot about herbs and plants (and their practical applications) as our guide Juan David had a wide knowledge about it (as well as about the native communities) After visiting the Kogui village we decided to go for the optional river tubing so we went downriver for about one and a half hours and it was fun (it also saved us from having to hike back for two hours to the starting point, so we would highly recommend this option too) Overall it was a great experience and definitely my highlight of my trip to Colombia

My children and I thought it was the best plan of all our vacations on the Coast, absolutely incredible! Walk through the mountains, learn about the medicinal properties of plants from Juan David, get to the Kogi, spend the day with them learning about their culture, receive an energy cleansing, spend the afternoon bathing with the Kogi children in the river after their school day and then tubing down the river through the most incredible landscapes in the area are experiences that we will never forget, thank you very much for this opportunity that far exceeded our expectations.

The day with Juande has been very nice, we have learned a lot about the kogui ethnic group by a passionate and wise guide. We loved getting to know the medicinal plants, the beautiful waterfall and the beach where we had lunch. I recommend this tour to everyone and I wanted to go and meet other indigenous peoples in the jungle, luck for Tierra Nativa hope to continue working a lot, learning and transmitting. Laura

Super complete tour. We started out on horseback until we reached the kogui community where we met and learned about their culture and way of life, and ended up tubing down the river. The guide, Juan David, is an amazing person who knows the area and the kogui culture itself very well. Highly recommended.

It was an amazing experience. Communication with the organizers is very good, from the first moment everything was clear and as described in the activity. The guide has a lot of knowledge about medicinal plants which was a plus throughout the walk. He also shared a lot of time with the koguis and was able to answer all our questions. The community is very interesting, the landscapes spectacular. I recommend it 100%

It was a wonderful experience, super recommended!I went with my dad and husband, we learned about medicinal plants along the way. Juan David is a great guide as he knows the way and has managed to establish a special relationship with the Kogui community, they welcomed us well, we met the mamo, we were in their malokas, we learned from their culture and we had lunch. Thank you also for having Vegan options for lunch, it was an event we will remember for the rest of our days, I hope to return soon.
