Lordy was an amazing tour guide and the food was delicious. It felt like walk with a member of my family who just so happens to know everyone. My favorite was the samosas and the yuca.

The food tour was good and we were able to try a range of street food which we definitely would not have known about or been able to find on our own. The guide was very nice but unfortunately did not give us much information about the food or the area. We saw a lot of stone town and walked through alleyways etc that we would not have stumbled across of our own accord. This was a definite plus. overall the tour was good but the lack of information provided throughout did let it down a bit for us.

This tour is a must if you want to try a variety of local food from Zanzibar! The guide, Lodi is a local himself and gives a personal touch while walking through the neighborhood he was born in and grew up in. I really enjoyed this tour and all the food included. I am a pescatarian and he was able to accommodate my special diet. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone visiting Zanzibar.

The food stops on this tour were absolutely sensational — truly incredible food, and such a great variety of dishes to try. Every single stop was a winner. Our guide knew everyone. Like, everyone. We wandered through his neighbourhood and it genuinely felt like walking around with a friend. I’d done a walking tour earlier in the day, but this was something completely different — it felt like seeing the real Stone Town and eating like the locals rather than the tourist version. By the end I was SO full. Such a brilliant experience — highly recommend!

Lodi led us through a wonderful, authentic street food tour through Stone Town. Lodi is a true local who grew up in the neighborhood, and you can see and feel his connection with his neighbors. My favorite foods were the "urojo" otherwise known as "Zanzibar mix," and chipati with millet porridge. I always find trying the local foods to be a perfect way to experience a new place, and this was no exception.

We joined Lodi for an evening Food Tour through Stone Town and it was such an enjoyable experience. Not only did Lodi showcase the local food, food that we would not have tried otherwise, he also led us through the winding alleyways of Stone Town, all the while telling us stories and providing some history on the area. We finished the tour with full bellies and a better understanding of the area. Highly recommend this tour!

So glad my wife and I found Lodi’s operation. This was definitely one of our favorite evenings over the last couple weeks spent in East Africa from the perspective of cultural immersion and local food exploration. Lodi is an electrical engineer by trade who has worked overseas but returned to his home of Stone Town and is now sharing his local knowledge focused around the food scene. We stepped into historic but active bread bakery, met some of his family and other friends, and really got a sense for the local vibe. Getting off the beaten path while still being in the heart of stone town was an appreciated part of our visit. Recommend highly. We did not have to worry about dietary restrictions.

This time with Lodi was unforgettable. He has so much insight and connection to the community in Stone Town and the food we ate was incredible. He lays out the experience in such a thoughtful way - each dish and drink seem to be perfectly timed. Highly recommend to work with him and understand Stone Town from a true local’s perspective.

Loki was a brilliant guide. Small group, intimate and fun. Obviously a very well know local who knows what his guests want to see
