The best way to see and experience a country is to see its roots and history. Equipped with the simplest mode of transport a bicycle, you are set and ready to go through rural Malaysia and a few local Malaysian villages also dubbed “the kampong”. A quick escape out of the city bring you back in time to experience and soak in the rustic way of Malaysian living. Simple sundry shops by the road side, old mosques, nice village huts, and a beautiful view of the sun rising against the silhouette of one of KL city major water supply lake. The ride starts of easy on very flat terrain along some twisty rural roads surrounded by lush greenery and the cool misty mornings of the countryside. The road then follows alongside the bends of a nice small river. Midway into the ride, expect a few hill climbs, which by then the muscles should be all warmed up and ready to take on the oncoming challenges. Expect some loud calls from the Malayan Gibbons and some mischievous macaques by the side of the road. Along the way, we are expected to see some native “orang asli” kampongs (local Malaysian indigenous villages). Pedal power on two wheels is the way to go to experience a different side of Malaysia. We would require you to be of average fitness and must be able to ride a bicycle well. This experience was truly unique and memorable. Ben takes you to a charming rural town just outside Kuala Lumpur, offering a refreshing escape from the city. He provided detailed and helpful information before the tour, making it easy to prepare. On the day of the tour, Ben was punctual, picking us up from our accommodation near KLCC. The experience began with a quick breakfast before gearing up for the 40 km ride. The route included moderate hills and offered a good mix of challenge and enjoyment. Although we cycled on roads, we used mountain bikes, which were forgiving on bumps and potholes, though slightly heavier. Along the way, we visited hot springs, a serene lake, and spotted some wildlife. What stood out was Ben’s wealth of knowledge about the local ecology and history, which added depth to the ride. He was attentive to everyone’s pace, ensuring the experience was enjoyable for all participants. A moderate level of fitness is recommended for this ride, given the distance and hills. To top it off, we enjoyed a delicious light lunch before heading back to town. The combination of adventure, learning, and great company made this an unforgettable experience. I’d absolutely join this tour again!

Outstanding. In addition to the ride, he was able to make sense of Malaysian culture to a degree I never would have imagined. Sorry for all the questions Ben!

This is my second time doing this ride with Ben, this time I brought along a couple of friends and they loved it as well Ben has been running these adventure tours for 12 years and he’s developed a great package. He can adjust the ride to accommodate cycling experience and challenge you if that’s what you want. Pick up and return to your hotel, a great breakfast and lunch and a riding experience unlike any other. Highly recommended 👍

I enjoyed all the tour. It was such a beautiful place to get on a bike. Beside the tour, Ben is also a cool guy with whom you can have a good conversation and talk about everything you want. I got even insight into the Malaysian traditions and the "must-know-about-Malaysia". I would recommend that tour. You will see Malaysia from the other side - not just from Kuala Lumpur, but also from the nature point.
