The tour is adapted to beginners and more-advanced skiers and organised in small groups to allow a better connection with nature.

What To Expect

Ski touring is an easy ski discipline designed to let you glide on deep snow off the beaten tracks or groomed trails. The backcountry skis (called in Finnish, “sliding snowshoes”) are equipped with a skin allowing to both hike uphill and slide downhill; they are equally used for long Arctic expeditions or shorter day tours into wild nature. They are the perfect equipment to get to beautiful elusive places that you cannot reach with cars or on foot. Your guide will drive you away from Rovaniemi to some elusive nature area where you can explore a bit of Lapland forests and hills with Altai skis. The tour is designed to let you enjoy a great ski experience, while discovering the taiga forests. As you slide down on deep snow, your guide will also explain you more about your surroundings and arctic nature. The tour will be adapted to the level of the group with different terrains and difficulty options.

Full-day ski trip with crossing of frozen lake, shelter in a Laavu to regain strength. The real Lapland, far from tourist spots, par -26, with beautiful landscapes: sunset over the lake and burning sky. We had a great day with our guide (thanks to Justine, pro, enthusiastic, explanations and good mood at the appointment). Very good experience!

First time trying this and it went great. Our guide Hérve made sure we were comfortable with the skis and then lead us into the beautiful Lappish Nature, where he gave us many tips and shared useful knowledge about animals and nature in general. Once we reached a panoramic spot he trated us to hot drinks and biscuits. Then on our way back we stopped on a beautiful frozen lake. It was the perfect sustainable and authentic Lappish experience.
