Al Muharraq
The “Pearling path: Testimony of an Island Economy” is the second cultural attraction in Bahrain listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site was listed on the list in 2012, following the inscription of Qala’at Al-Bahrain in 2007. The Pearling Path extends for about 3 kilometers, starting from the pearling sites near Bu Maher Fort which was built in 1840, to Siyadi House Muharraq. During this tour, the local guide who born in the same neighborhood will guide you and discuss the life style, traditional and culture of the old city of Muharraq and the relationship between the locals and the sea. We will stop by many attractions listed to be part of the pearling path and there are many stories at each attraction to be shared. Its more than a tour for us – book the tour and enjoy your day.

We had a bespoke tour for 5 adults to see the pearling path. We were upgraded from a Nissan patrol to a bus for free and were able to do part of the tour by bus and part walking the pearling path. Our tour guide Ali AlAnsari was very knowledgeable, kind and humerous and is a Bahraini born in the muharraq area where we were touring. Part of the tour was stopping at the original sweet shop to taste and buy lovely halwa with coffee, visiting original houses and museums on the path and tasting dates, coffee and tea and visiting a ship yard where dhows are made. The tour ended at a Bahraini restaurant for delicious mixed grill and puddings bags with saffron and dates. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Excellent guide and driver, the tour was bespoke so we could walk as much or as little as we needed. The tour itself was very interesting and enjoyable and the food was delicious. Well recommended.
