This small peninsula, 1.5 hours from Kuching City is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life. Unique geological features mark the coastline, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches. The best times for seeing wildlife at Bako are just after dawn and just before dusk, when the animals are at their most active. You are more likely to see animals on the trails if you go in small groups, walk slowly, keep as quiet as possible, and listen out for sounds and movements in the forest.

The park itself is very nice and the guide was also great. However, the supply here is completely overpriced. Better look for something locally and pay only a third.

Sally was an excellent tour guide during our Bako tour. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. She pointed out all the monkeys, snake, and wildlife on the tour. I was the oldest person on the tour. She offered for a boat to return me to the Bako center on the return. The boat could not come so the other 6 people went ahead. Sally stayed with me and helped me over the difficult parts of the trek. I made it thanks to Sally’s help and kindness. She made the tour very special for me and the others on the tour. She is an asset to your company.

Excellent tour of the national park. Jan and Edwin picked us up at our hotel very as arranged and drove us to the park. They were very informative throughout the day and we saw some great wildlife. The trail was a bit tougher than we expected but the guides ensured we went at the right pace with plenty of rest stops along the way. They then took us for lunch which was amazing. I cannot thank them enough for looking after us throughout the day and would highly recommended this tour.

We had an excellent experience on the guided tour. We went in a very small group, just me and my partner, which made everything even more special. Our guide, Elvin, was always concerned that we could observe most of the wildlife in the park, especially the elusive narigud monkeys, and thanks to him we managed to do so. The activity was very complete and enriching. To make the most of the visit, I recommend always doing it with a guide: otherwise it is easy to miss many animals and important details.

The river cruising part was enjoyable, and the scenic beauty of the beach was truly amazing. However, the trip felt a bit rushed, especially the trekking, which was very tiring and somewhat unpredictable. The animal sightseeing was not as fun or interesting as expected. Lunch could also have been better if it was arranged on the island itself

I love hiking through forests – and this one was by far the most beautiful hike I’ve ever done. Although exhausting because of the heat, but the nature is just fantastic and the air so wonderfully clean. A place I will miss.

Hiking tours are quite tough but certainly doable despite the fact that we had to deal with a heavy tropical shower. Please note: Good lunch but only after the walking tours so bring your own food.

This was a great trip. Our guide Don, was not only very knowledgeable about the wildlife, but on the journey there he explained about the culture and ethnic groups in Sarawak along with a brief history. Once at the park he made a great effort to find wildlife for us and we were rewarded with various animal sightings including several Proboscis monkeys.

This summer we had the pleasure, on a school trip, to be guided by Khai on a night walk at Bako. He was highly knowledgeable and provided us with interesting facts while keeping the morale high through singing songs and being chatty. We highly recommend that everyone goes on the night trek if available and request Khai as guide: he made it a memorable night for the whole group.

This is a beautiful place to see. There are animals we have never seen before. The guide was very friendly and very competent. I highly recommend it.
