Beautiful walk, but if you don't know a fear of heights! No Grand Canyon, but much quieter and doable. You lose almost 4 hours back and forth, but you enjoy yourself continuously along the way. Do it in the morning, because when you have to go back to your accommodation in the evening it is very dark!

Known as the "Grand Canyon of Arabia," Jebel Shams boasts the highest peak in Oman and offers stunning views. The walk is not difficult if you do hiking regularly. Just a few small steep sections, rest is level 3 walk. The view is amazing, if you are in the area, don't miss this.

I'm thrilled to go on the Jabel Shams summit hiking trip. It was such an incredible and memorable experience! It was a fantastic adventure, especially for a first-time hiker. The fact that the group, guide, and overall experience exceeded my expectations speaks volumes about the quality of the journey. Thank you for this amazing experience. I can't wait for the next hikes.

The actual walk is lovely and the Via Ferrata was an exciting and enjoyable way to finish without having to retrace your steps. We were a bit annoyed to be asked whether we had brought any climbing gloves with us as these were apparently considered important despite not being on the kit list and the company saying that all equipment would be provided. Our guide was pleasant but quite taciturn and we had to ask him questions to find out anything about what we were seeing or doing. He did warm up a bit as the day wore on but clearly not a 'people' person. We eventually found out that the two people accompanying him were trainee guides. This was not something we were aware was going to happen but, as they were both considerably more talkative than the actual guide, we weren't about to complain! The authentic Omani lunch could not unfortunately be facilitated but the offer of a barbecue as an alternative sounded great. Sadly, all we got was a load of lamb chops which were really quite tough despite long cooking over the BBQ. No salads or side dishes which was very disappointing.
