We were treated to a breathtaking drive through the stunning landscapes of Banff, with the setting sun illuminating the majestic peaks and lush valleys around us. Our guide was not just knowledgeable; she was a vibrant presence, effortlessly blending fun with fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna. With each twist and turn of the road, we were captivated by the panoramic views. As we ventured further, we spotted a group of big-horn sheep gracefully grazing on the Norquay Road hillside, their impressive horns gleaming in the sunlight. The enchanting Lake Minnewanka came into view, its azure waters shimmering like a precious gem against the backdrop of towering mountains. We could hardly resist the urge to take a short hike along the Hoodoos Trail, where the unique rock formations loomed over us, telling stories of ancient geological magic. Driving past Surprise Corner, we were treated to yet another postcard-worthy view of the Banff Springs Hotel nestled amidst the pines. Our journey continued by the Banff golf course, where we were fortunate enough to observe a sizable herd of elk roaming freely. One particular elk caught our attention as it curiously picked up a golf ball, only to amusingly spit it out moments later, much to our amusement. We also had the pleasure of spotting white-tailed deer elegantly wandering through the underbrush, alongside mule deer grazing peacefully. A cheeky ground-burrowing squirrel darted across our path, bringing an extra dash of charm to our day. Each moment was a reminder of the incredible wildlife and natural beauty that the Banff area has to offer.

This was a visually fun and informative experience. We saw a red fox, a herd of elks, white tail and mule deer and long horn sheep. The hot chocolate was a perfect beverage for our trip.

We were unable to participate on the tour as we had a sudden passing in the family. After the shock settled I called 22 hours in advance to cancel the tour and was denied any type of refund. I understand that we missed the 24 hours cancellation by two hours, but please keep in mind that they are very strict with their cancellation policy.

We had a great time and managed to see a number of different animals, deer and elk being the highlights. Sadly no bears as they were hibernation. Our guide ‘Nolan’ was really knowledgeable about the area and made the tour fun. Nolan took us to some spots on the tour we would not have known to go to. To get the most out of the tour during winter wear a coat and gloves.
