First visit at The Grand Palace, In 1782 the new King decided to move the capital city to the left bank of the Chao Phraya River for strategic purposes and used the canals to the west as defenses for the new city. A palace was constructed whose grounds currently covers an area of 218,000 square metres that are enclosed by crenallated walls measuring 19,000 metres. Similar to palaces in the former capitals of Sukhothai and Ayudhaya this palace is also laid out with Halls of Residence and Throne Halls as well as administrative buildings and a temple that serves as the Chapel Royal.

My wife and I had a wonderful day visiting Bangkok (from ship to central city & return). Vivi, our tour guide was very friendly, courteous & knowledgeable about Bangkok history & temples visited. The car service was excellent. The driver was courteous & accommodating. The vehicle was modern & very comfortable. It is hard to find a guide with such a great personality & knowledge of the history of an area. I would recommend Vivi to anyone interested in a tour of Bangkok & will request her services when visiting Bangkok again. Mike & Marie

Alex was a wonderful tour guide who spoke excellent English & has a great knowledge of the history behind the sights. He made the day a lot of fun & made sure that we were always safe in the crowds. He took us to a fantastic place for lunch—we really enjoyed the food! It was really interesting to visit the temples but there was so much more—a fun boat ride along the river, walking around & seeing the locals in their everyday lives, driving around the city to see the sights, & even a visit to a gem company. I appreciated that he offered us a lot of bathroom opportunities & cool drinks too! Mr. Sam was an excellent driver & we felt safe & comfortable all day. He was prompt & never made us wait. He was very friendly as well. The company was very professional in their communication. This tour was all inclusive with a pickup from the cruise port in Laem Chabang plus all entrance fees & lunch. No queues or waiting—everything was smooth & carefully arranged!
