Holetown

Saint James Parish

Located in Holetown, St. James Parish Church is one of the oldest churches in Barbados, dating back to 1628. Built on the island’s first consecrated land, it’s often referred to as “God’s acre.” The current coral-stone structure reflects a mix of Gothic architecture and colonial charm, complete with beautiful stained glass windows and a historic bell cast in 1696 by the same foundry that made Big Ben.
