This is relaxed day out and the guide, Mark, is knowledgeable and entertaining - very worthwhile. Remember this is a coach trip not a private tour.

I had a terrible experience with this tour operator. I’ve booked many tours before and every one of them has sent communication the day before with information where to meet etc giving us a way to communicate with them. I heard nothing from this tour at all which I thought was strange. On the day, we unfortunately had a really hard time finding a taxi and then got caught in heavy traffic once we found one. So knowing we would be a little late, I sent a message telling them sorry we’re going be a few minutes late. No answer. I tried again a few minutes later and still no answer. Also no one got in touch with us. It says private transportation so you would think they would try to get in touch if we haven’t arrived yet. We went on a boat cruise the other day and a family arrived late and the captain was texting with them and we waited over 10 minutes for them. So we got to the meeting place about 8 minutes late and texted them beforehand letting them know we would be late but when we got there, there was no one. Also the bar we were supposed to meet at was closed so there was no one to ask anything. That was weird. To be honest, the meeting place being at a bar was a little strange in the first place. We tried calling them through the number Viator listed but no answer. We waited around this closed bar for half an hour and then gave up. We then asked Viator for a refund since we didn’t get to go on the tour and they said the vendor rejected the refund. No offers or communication or anything with us. So I’m just saying that this tour operator has very poor customer service and poor communication (in fact there was no communication with them). I wouldn’t book with them again. They just seem very unprofessional and shady. We went on so many other tours that had excellent communication and sometimes the tour guide was a bit late or sometimes we were a bit late but we would communicate with them easily and it worked out fine. This place has no communication whatsoever.

We visited Montserrat near Barcelona in March and honestly, people should know what to expect before going. First, it’s extremely commercialized. The area around the monastery feels more like a tourist shopping complex than a historic mountain retreat. There are souvenir shops, expensive cafés, and ither large tour groups everywhere. If you’re expecting a quiet, spiritual, or authentic mountain experience, that’s not really what it is anymore. We went in March and the weather was cold and rainy, which made the experience worse. The cafés were expensive and the service was very slow, which isn’t great when you’re standing around wet and freezing. We took the funicular to the top of the mountain, which was actually one of the better parts of the visit. The ride is steep and impressive, and there are several walking trails at the top. In good weather the walks are probably the highlight, but in the rain and fog the views were mostly hidden. The basilica itself was also underwhelming considering how famous it is. After hearing so much hype about Montserrat, it just didn’t feel particularly special. Our guide was very good and the coach drive peefect, but overall, Montserrat feels far more like a heavily managed tourist destination than an authentic place. It may be worth visiting if you get good weather and enjoy mountain walks, but go in knowing it’s very commercial and crowded rather than peaceful or traditional.

The bus was very comfortable. The tour guide was concise in his review of the regional history, legends, interesting facts and general things to know, especially what to expect upon arrival to the monetary. Marc was professional and genuine in guiding and addressing questions and comments. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Monastery. In addition to engaging the group at the site, almost the entire bus ride included interesting historical information.

The views are so great. Marc, our tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. He made sure that we will have a great experience at Montserrat by explaining everything and answered our questions patiently. He also gave us tips on good places around Barcelona. I’m glad we took this excursion.

This tour was wonderful! Our tour guide Marc was incredible! He gave us tons of history and facts to bring our entire experience to life! Having someone to pick you and and get you where you needed to go was a life savor. You also have plenty of free time to do whatever you would like. I brought my mom, and we were both able to enjoy it! The views are unbelievable and pictures do not do it justice!

We enjoyed the tour. We planned on seeing the Boys' Choir but they were not performing that day. Our tour guide was unaware of that. He provided a lot of other good information.
