La Fragua de estancia San Ramon
Follow your guide to an old countryside school converted to the ranch’s eating area. Inside the former school, ranch staff welcome you with a light breakfast. Next, you'll learn some horseback riding techniques from your expert guide who leads the way on a 2-hour journey into the Andes foothills. This riding is for begginers and experts. Pass a picturesque lake and ride through transition forests before reaching the Patagonian steppe. Keep your eyes peeled for autochthonous animals. After your ride, return to the ranch and dig into a 3-course lunch (a first course, a main course and a dessert) featuring Argentine asado. The feast of traditional barbecued meats comes with an open bar of wine, soft drinks and mineral water. Finishing this, enjoy transport back to your Bariloche hotel. If you select the afternoon tour, you will start off with lunch, then the horseback ride, and end with snacks. *Please note: If you have dietary restrictions, please note these when you book the tour.

For a novice rider, the ranchers/guides gave simple and easy to follow instructions. They paired the horses with each individual by their experience, size and weight. The horse is so tame and gentle at the same time. I was relaxed during my first horseback riding session to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Patagonia steppe was breathtaking and the 2hrs ride passed before we realized it’s over. Then it came the enormous amount of food for lunch. The meat was perfectly grilled and the wine was delirious. I walked away with tremendous appreciation for the beautiful natural landscape and the well cared for animals as they get to roam free after a job well done.

We had a lovely time on the horseback riding tour just outside of Bariloche! The slow trail ride was a relaxing way to take in the beautiful scenery, and it was followed by a delicious asado that made the experience even more enjoyable. The 45-minute drive from Bariloche was well worth it, and the entire team was incredibly kind and welcoming, making sure we felt comfortable throughout the day. It’s a great outing for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area at a laid-back pace!

The ranch staff are very well organised and know exactly how to deliver a good experience. Very informative talk before we went riding. Nice tame horses which do what they are supposed to do. Nice easy rider with beautiful views over amazing scenery. Topped off by an amazing BBQ with as much meat as you could possibly want. Really enjoyable.

Absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience. I don’t typically leave reviews but the attention that this family puts into ensuring you have a good experience needs to be recognized. It started with a small breakfast and intro to the history of Mate to help us relax and unwind before meeting the horses. We then promptly were matched with our horse and enjoyed a 2 hour journey in the mountains - not only were the views stunning, but they guided us so well and even when I felt nervous with my horse, they were really good at staying calm and letting me know everything is okay. Overall though my horse (Ramon!) was a sweet boy and walked very well. Then the asado was also very well cooked and the dessert was delicious. It was probably the most authentic experience I’ve had in any excursion I’ve taken. I am born in Argentina and this did not feel like a “tourist trap” at all. I will 100% be coming back and recommending this to everyone I know!
