Learn from a sommelier and master cheese ager to cherish the mild and strong flavors of young and aged Basel’s cheese. Try the country's pride called Gruyère AOP cheese, including other famous cheeses in Switzerland. Our tour guide decided to cancel our tour to help another tour guide who was sick. We were given two options. 1) Take the tour the tour a week later which was unacceptable because we would be in another country or 2) take a different tour which had only little bit in common with the original tour. We were offerred one bakery and more of a history tour. This was unacceptable. We did not understand why our tour was cancelled and not the other way around.

I was disappointed with tour, . Wanted to hear more info on Basel . Disappointed in guides cheese and chocolate shop. Would have loved to buy some chocolate to take home, but it wasn’t a store. He didn’t offer us water during cheese/chicolate tour and there was only one chair to sit down in store. When we went to bakery, had to sit on a window ledge to eat pastry. This tour was not worth the money . He was late for our tour(he did email and let us know) and left us after tour to get back to hotel. Wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone . Debbie marx

It is not a typical food tour. It is also a private tour. We were taken to a shop owned by the tour guide. Very knowledgeable about cheeses and chocolate. Tastings of cheeses wonderful. Scant on the chocolate tasting though. Would suggest increase hospitality to offer chairs to sit and water to drink. Then we began our walking tour. Very informative of old part of Basel. Stopped at a bakery and selected a pastry. Probably the best I had tasted during our travels. But again no place to sit and eat our pastry.

This tour was given by a very nice young man who took us to a pastry shop then to his store to taste cheeses and chocolate beans. He was very knowledgeable about where the cheeses came from and the flavors of each. A couple came in and spent quite a bit of time buying cheese in the middle of our tour. It was really a long time to stand without any chairs. We bought some cheese. We expected to be trying more chocolate pastries, not just chocolate beans with a couple of bites of chocolate. He did not have chocolate available to buy except one kid which we did not want. I hate to say this because he was so nice but I probably would not do this tour again.
