Cruise into the magical Cataract Gorge and through Launceston's riverfront precinct. Head north past Tamar Island, historical buildings; churches, pubs and significant homesteads. Sample the rich diversity of life as we cruise past quaint riverfront communities, vineyards and farms, to the notable Batman Bridge. The Tamar Valley is steeped with romance and studded with bushrangers, explorers and tales of gold diggers. Australia's longest navigable estuarine river has many natural coves and protected inlets provide sanctuary for thousands of native water birds which can only be seen on the river.

The boat was well laid out and comfortable. Callum gave an informative commentary sprinkled with fun facts. The two other staff on board were friendly and attentive, and kept the brewed coffee topped up! Morning tea and lunch were great. A lovely way to spend 4 hours!

Great crew , easy booking, and parking , the capttain was fountain of information, yet the conversation seemed more about the value if property and very little or nothing about the indigenous peoples.

The tour was excellent, the tour guide/captain provided lots of local information on the history of the area and current land use. The catering provided was good.

Great commentary and the staff were excellent. We enjoyed learning more about the history of the region. There was plenty of food with morning tea and a selection of rolls for lunch and a local wine and beer tasting. A very pleasant trip.

Cataract Gorge and information regarding river wildlife. One regret is that the exterior seating at the rear of the boat has been done away with. When I did this river trip March 2023, the seating was there. It was a wonderful experience to sit there at times during the trip. I recommend that you restore this seating!
