Called the french Tuscany, the south of the Beaujolais is warm with its golden stone which shines in the sun. This limestone, full of iron oxide reflects light in the heart of the green vineyards. Come and taste a voluptuous and fruity wine !

Our guide Francois was charming and accommodating. We visited 2 family owned and operated wineries and learned a lot about Beaujolais. The best part however is enjoying the company of other wine enthusiasts from Sweden, USA, Singapore.

An excellent introduction to Beaujolais! The scenery is just breathtaking. We visited two family-run vineyards. We especially loved the rosés and reds. Our tour guide Francois was a delight. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to try the Beaujolais region!

Excellent overview of the Beaujolais wine region! Stunning scenery, friendly hosts, and of course delicious wine! Mathilde was an excellent guide throughout the experience — very knowledgeable and kind. We loved this experience!

We had a fantastic half-day Beaujolais wine tour with Rhône Trip, led by the knowledgeable and friendly François. Our group—four Canadians, a young Texan traveler, and François’s apprentice—made for a fun, laid-back atmosphere that perfectly suited the experience. Our first stop was Domaine de Fond-Vieille, the standout of the tour. Dominique Guillard welcomed us with a walk through his vineyards (where we were greeted by the winery dog, Mascot!), followed by a behind-the-scenes look at his production facilities, including traditional concrete aging tanks. The tasting was extensive and accompanied by a wonderful spread of local cheeses, cured meats, and fresh bread, which made the experience even more memorable. The wines—especially the Beaujolais Blanc, Vieilles Vignes, and Cuvée Alexandre—were excellent. We left with half a case and would have taken more if we could carry it! Our second visit was to Domaine des Prévelières, run by brothers Quentin and Gaëtan Morel. Their wines had a lighter, fruit-forward style—particularly the Beaujolais Blanc Pierres Dorées—and their passion for winemaking really came through. This tour is an ideal introduction to the Pierres Dorées area and its independent producers. Rhône Trip offers an authentic, intimate wine experience with real character. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the region from Lyon!
