What To Expect

Step into the world of Armenian beekeeping and natural wellness with an immersive beeswax balm-making workshop in Goris. Your experience will begin in the yard of a 120-year-old house, where you’ll meet Grisha, a master beekeeper with over 50 years of experience. Dressed in traditional beekeeping attire, you’ll learn about the ancient practice of beekeeping in Syunik, the benefits of raw honey, and how beeswax has been used in natural remedies for generations. Next, you’ll prepare your own beeswax balm, following a recipe passed down from your host’s grandmother. The balm is known for its healing properties, soothing dry skin, burns, and cuts. As the mixture cools and solidifies, you’ll enjoy a traditional tea break with homemade gata, an local sweetbread, and herbal teas sourced from the nearby mountains. By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a 50g jar of handmade balm, a natural souvenir infused with the wisdom of Armenian beekeepers. Note: Guests with bee allergies should inform us in advance. Children must be accompanied by a parent for safety.
